I think this best describes what I was trying to get at.

Ryan

While not "exactly" the same circumstance as NEA's, I have to say it is on the same slippery slope in my mind. Seems a little offside to pull the scab off NEAs wound in light of what Ryan pointed out. Until now, I just assumed Nato556 was just your average CGNer happily gushing about his new rifle; never occurred to me he might have a significant stake in that very same.

Holy sjit, pbr!! WTF is THAT? lol

That would be back in the box and returned to sender ASAP!

Pretty much the bought i am in. Want to support our country, and like their price... But not completely convinced

I just had another batch come in, everything looks good on them. Some people have asked me to give them a once over and I'll do that for all of them. I went thru 1/2 of them yesterday, all looks good. Triggers are lighter and I'm sure they will break in even more with time. I think NEA has posted on here that the triggers pull has some room for improvement but these are much better. Tomorrow I'm taking a 7.5" out and shooting the crap out of it just for fun :) NEA, Stag, KAC or Norc, just buy an AR. The more there are our there the better it is for all of us.

I'll do another demo shoot in a month or so...it should be abit warmer then and we can all have a blast...free ammo and lots and lots of shooting.

I wish anyone considering an NEA15 who is now unsure could have mine for a day. You'd be convinced.

That gas key is f'in nuts, I know it, the poor bastard who got it knows it, NEA sure as heck knows it, but it was ONE KEY! It is hard to fathom how it got out the door but it is equally hard to fathom that another one will.

It must drive the NEA guys nuts to see that big ol' picture of a butchered gas key posted AGAIN...and while we are on the topic (sort of) of full disclosure, PBR Streetgang appears a little eager to stir the sh!t ever since he had to wait too long for his NEA PDW ;) , and me, I have an NEA-15 carbine and I love the way it looks, feels, and shoots!
Just teasing you a bit PBR :nest:

All this will be discussed I imagine when Greentips chooses, I'm sure he will make some kind of public announcement in light of how the unnamed person reveled all this to us and NEA admitted to it.

Unfortunately at this time it seems there is only a post from GT on the topic of USP in the OT, and nothing addressing the shilling issue.

Lets hope for more......

Kevin, you are not really one to talk about professional conduct.

I still distinctively recall the manner in which you very publicly addressed an importation issue by a dealer here on CGN in his thread, on his forum. Left a very sour taste in my mouth and I hold no respect for you as a result.

It is no secret on this board that 556Nato lives in Kingston and is with OST...

It may not be a "secret", but I didn't know that and it sure as hell wasn't pointed out in that long commercial disguised as a happy customer post. The thread starters profile gives Kingston as a location and nothing else - no reference anywhere to the industry in the signature and even taking the time to view the public profile it provides no references to OST... so how is that connection supposed to be common knowledge? It's no secret that I'm 6"4" tall, but does everyone here on CGN know that?

As I'm a member of the general buying public with no dog in any of these dirty fights, I look upon the thread that Chemist pointed out as very deceiving and I agree with his point 100%. With the absence of any reference to being involved with OST, that thread starter is a shill to a guy like my who isn't "in the know" about who's who in the tangled web. Two wrongs do not make a right but at least NEA doesn't have to provide any further comment on their point that others in the industry do the same, as I can now see that is in fact correct.

While I do not support or endors what NEA did, I respect the fact that they owned up to it and are attempting to rebuild their rep. The fact that they got caught well... for sure they probably would have continued to shill had they not.
I'm glad in a weird way that this happened. It will mean I will take the product info / reviews from ALL businesses with a few mopre grains of salt. Sad but such is life.

As someone already mentioned... if we are to review the supporting businesses' integrity should not GT be under review as well? The way I understand it ( correct me if I am wrong as the other related threads have been deleted etc) the MOD that outed this got banned yet the supporting businesses are still here appearently with no repercussions except mud on their face? Just sayin'.......

Lemons go out. Anything done by humans is going to have some issues eventually. It's how the company deals with the lemons that makes you in the industry.

The only other manufacturers here IIRC, are Dlask and ATR.
Even if they both shilled it does not make NEA right.

Frankly two wrongs don't make a right (even at a four way stop you'd need 3 wrongs silly folks). I'm pissed as I though ever since the ARMS fiasco on AR15.com that folks knew you can fool some of the folks some of the time... It's a stupid business practice even if you have no integrity, and it paints those of us in industry with their slime covered brush.

Wait, let me get this straight;

We were wrong.. Yes, admitted so.
If someone else did it though, we're the only one wrong.
Someone else, here, one of your own distributors here was Just shown to have done the same thing.. Not the same, we're still wrong.
Somehow a manufacturer taking time to feed the fire in public against another is somehow professional.

Wow, our horse is getting beaten to death while you get to sit up high on yours.

Edited to reword a section

KevinB, How can you post this when your very own KAC distributor was posting about how great KAC products are from a personal account a month ago and replying to that person with a dealer account? While not exactly the same, it is the same slippery slope.

Sorry, but I don't have a personal account.

Nor have I ever pretended to be my own client, defending my own business practices.

556Nato actually purchased an SR-15 and posted his review before he actually had any stake in OSTS (which only happened last week).
