Gents,

Can someone please id this black powder percussion pistol with attached stock. Pictures attached including lockplate. It appears original, but want to know if it was British military issue, age and a ballpark value. I believe it is 1830s period, but I am no expert. Looking forward to replies.

Pretty sure that it is Scandinavian. Definitely not British. Looks as if may have been converted from flint.

thanks guys. great to know. I'm looking for british military flintlocks, Tower marked British besses and would love to have a pistol if you know of anyone selling a piece or collection.

very best

PS - Crown over CB = Carlsborg Arsenal - there should be that stamped somewhere on the piece.

Lots of BBs over here in UK, classed as an antique that looks like a gun. Anybody over 18 can buy one. One well-known dealer in Leicestershire has a room-full of them, AND martial pistols of the pre-cartridge era.

He sends them all over the world, too, in return only for money.
