Black Rifle Optics...

I'm curious would an Aimpoint Micro co witness on the SA?

On a Kyle Precision rail on a CQB using the stock mount... YES! It does!!! It gets somewhat tougher as you push it further out, but it still co-witnesses nicely.

I'm wondering now if a Larue LOW mount would also work, but I'll have to see.

BOOOO!!! :D

Collaseable stock... I don't think so. They're ugly as sin, and I find the stock one juuuust right (I'm 6'5").

I'm 6'2" with a lanky frame :D. However I started changing my shooting stance and instead of bladed I have started to shoot squared and leaning more forward. This has caused me to need shorter then usual stocks which mean collapsible. On the plus side I have found accuracy from the standing is better this way, for me at least.

Please explain, not a dig I want to understand.

The Dr is a projected dot, and any projected dot will take both more energy (less battery life all else being equal) and the lens is much more easier obscured.

Dr's can be a bear to zero - they are an "ish" adjustment system - whicle the T1 is a real click.

Plus the Aimpoint is about 500x more rugged

Thx for taking the time to explain. Very much appreciated.

a T1 with the EO reticle would be the heat.

Funny that's kind of what I said to the Eotech reps at the CANSEC show. "wish the EOtech reticle was in the T1 sight". Their smiles disappeared, I think they here it a lot. :D They tried to sell me on the virtues of their new smaller version one (forget the model name) but they couldn't answer the battery issues.

I actually like the eotech much better and seem to get on target faster with it but I love the size of the T1 and if was going into combat would choose it over the eotech due to it eating batteries so much. Its nice to be able to leave the T1 one and not have to worry about it the next range day. Fingers crossed eotech comes out with something extra special next year. ;):)

Did you end up swinging by the Aimpoint booth?

Kevin, If you had to chose just one optic for an M4 and one for an M14, what would you go with? These would not be mission specific, these would be your only and last choice kinda thing. Price not being a factor either.

Thanks

mounting the trijicon TA11F

Would you mount it up high on the carry handle (for the backup Iron through the tube in the base) or use the TA51 mount and put the scope directly on the Picatinny rail...

should I loose the carry handle, and why?

cheers

Ditch the carry handle...
Why - well the lower height over bore will help with offset, and of course minor things like that ;)

Plus anything you can remove items and bolt something directly to the upper it is as good thing.

A lot of new products recently have made me re-evalutate my optics decisions.

I still think the T-1 is the heat for 14.5" and below systems

16" 7.62mm Leupold 1.1-8x CQBSS
this is something everyone said (in the optics field) could not be done, and now Premier Reticles, S&B and Leupold hace, and IMHO the Leupold is the best of the breed.
20" 7.62mm -- Leupold has a new 3-18x, but until they get it finished for the field, the S&B 3-12 is still my fav, or even the 4-16.

The .338LM S&B 5-22 or Leupolds new PSR 5-22

Kevin Trepa, the VP of Leupold Tactical Division is really changing what you think of in Leupold optics, this ain't the hunting rifle crowd...
