Who the hell could anyone blame them? They are not the protectors of our rights. We are.

If we EVER so epically fail to engage in protecting our rights that some pussy in parliament emboldens enough to simply WALK all over our paper rights -- well, then I'd say we've earned it. But we aren't there yet.

The defense is NOT threat of civil war against our own police force. That is internet ######ry; pure and simple.

It is the promise that we will NOT allow our constitution to be degraded by despots to a demeaning state for political whim -- not without severe consequences.

I wish I lived in your perfect world, guy. Regardless, none of what you said justifies following immoral orders issued by a government.

The system is rigged. There is no person that we can vote for that will keep our rights from being eroded. The system is f**ked, and the police defend it. They are complicit. Cogs in the machine that keep the citizens from running this country, the way it is supposed to be. End of story.

But I don't whinge about how unfair it is.


As for police complicity, how would we be better off if police simply enforced portions of the law they personally believed in or profited from? That sounds a bit like Mexico to me. No thanks. I think I'd like to correct things prior to them hitting that stage.

Standing up for a government that is slowly turning the country into an authoritarian corporatocratic hellhole does not make you a patriot. It makes you a BLIND patriot... and a big part of the problem.

Can we stop attacking each other and actually discuss what the heck is going on here? So far I hear lots of panicking and chest beating, but very little real info and very little real action. Writing a letter to uninformed politicians on a subject not even we have much info on is a difficult thing, so, can anyone state the facts we have, and any supporting evidence for them?

It's as simple as this..

if you are facing confiscation.. take a video of you turning the receiver into aluminum dust.. when they come to take it away, then just give them the dust.. they freak and insist you are trying to hide the original receiver.. you let them waste time and $$ and just produce the video at court.. you can show that the aluminum dust IS THE RECEIVER, and you produced it on demand.. (just keep the small square that has the serial # so you can't be charged with trying to modify/remove the serial number.. you just turn every other square inch to dust).
 
I will buy the new Norinco AR15 or one of the new Type 97 bullpups within the next month. I think that if they get banned, or otherwise fudged by the feds, the worst they can do is upgrade your license and catagorize them as prohibited. I have all kinds of now prohibited weapons.....and I own them all legally.

Nope.. they don't have to do jack to your license.. they can prohibit the firearm and come to your house and take it away from you.. (See G22)

do you honestly think they would go out of their way to be nice to you?? they don't want you having firearms and will take them any sneaky and underhanded way possible.

I understand that the Norinco 97A and others have come up. Any others that are certain?

There was a list but for the time being the RCMP have pulled back to the T97 and FSN-01. Read the CSSA announcement on Friday.

Whats important is to understand the why and how of what the RCMP are trying to do. Its not the end of the world and men in black uniforms aren't gonna kick down your door yet but it is very important that you understand the reasoning that is being used as the basis for these reclassifications. Although the RCMP has now "officially" said only the two are under review the results of that review have dramatic ramifications regarding many semi auto rifles if not virtually all of the ones that count. Once we start down this road is will be very difficult to get back to a place of reason.

People need to be aware and active. Even a simple email asking your MP whats going on in regards to the reclassifications and what their intentions are is a great start but letters are better.
