You guys did some nice work from the looks of it in pics and posts so far. For the metal rifle stock lovers, it just might be the ticket. More options for customers to choose from in Canada is always a good thing ;)

Hmmm, no. Right from there site, it's $625 cnd funds plus tax (12 percent here in BC) makes it exactly $700:rolleyes: then add shipping...:eek:

No to mention, the M1A is and never will be something you can equal to a precision rifle. Yes they can get accurate but not that much.

I agree completely, but as far as semi's, this is about as good as it gets. There's probably only a handful of semi's out there as accurate as this platform.

I also agree that paying $500-$1300 for a stock is out of control, but this isn't a gouge fest. There's real R&D, machining, marketing, and material cost etc etc that goes into this.

I realize that m14doc and m14.ca run businesses selling stocks and I shouldn't be saying this in public, but if you just simply cannot afford one of their products there is the USGI Fibreglass stock which costs about $125.00 and will make your stock thinner and pretty much bed the rifle for you without having to do a long installation process. I went that route, and I can always send my stock to get chopped and put an A2 grip and butt on it for about $350.00 all in, giving me a nice setup for $500'ish

Keep in mind it'll never be as nice as a blackfeather or m14s-cqb, but you can get in for $125.00 and upgrade as you go.
 
There is SO MUCH ROOM in the north american marketplace. I really don't see another aluminum stock as being competition hehehe (we're so busy we stopped advertising :D) Just good to see more options, in canada.

All the gizmos aside , aluminum expands at 5 times the rate of carbon fiber when put under heat stress. This is not a thing I pulled from my head.... It's documented by engineers and such. Carbon fiber is temperature neutral, aluminum is not, doesn't matter what grade it is.

From the hype on this black feather I would have expected to see everyones rifles shooting sub 2moa with an adjustment of the greatest m14 part/upgrade to ever be designed, in the history of the platform.... The mysterious "quad locked oprod guide". But I notice guys talking about load developement to shrink groups after installing and shooting.
The blackfeather "looks" like an aluminum version of the M14S-CQB LOL , I find that funny.
Greatest M14 improvement in history LOL, time will tell.

Does it look cool? Of course it does. Now go shoot those rigs kiddies, and tell us if your highly advanced blackfeather, lives up to all the hype it's been rolled out with.
Ggod job Laz and Frank, sean's design finally got made, with a few tweaks and changes I notice ;)
 
Speaking of elephants, I know the real topic in this thread that no one wants to touch. M14doc and m14.ca are really just trying to pump out as many stocks as possible before Tapco puts out an m1a T6 and puts them both out of business. There I said it, it had to be done, but someone had to relieve the tension.

LOL, there isn't any tension on my end, although everytime I post anything about their stuff, their hackles go up LOL

ICR doesn't just make one M14 stock and our business no longer relies on just the M14 platform. Obviously I should watch what I say here due to site rules, which I have and will continue to respect.

The position my point of view comes from on any new M14 product, is as a dedicated M14 riflesmith. Also I've seen all kinds of products in this world rolled out to the impressionable new rifle owners with all kinds of claims and hype... Only to get generation 1, generation 2, generation 3 and so on and so on.... Each successive generation takes more of your money and gets you no where closer to that perfect rifle LOL
You all know what I'm talking about :D

In reality, I'm a huge fan of this rifle for it's versatility as a military weapon, a hunting tool, a bench/LR rig or just a fun big bore blaster.
This versatility and increasing variety of accessories, keeps the rifle interesting and just makes guys like me want to build yet another M14 ;)
I have one of every aluminum stock that's come to market, sage, jae, troy, and unmentionable one that I'm testing for another company, and I'll have a blackfeather this week sometime ;)
 
Once again, avoiding the Tapco discussion. When that sucker is released, you're all doomed. That's what I'm saving up for, along with more flashlights (the ones with rubber buttons on the bottom).

LOL, you might be right man. Tapco and promag are gonna put all the other stock makers out of business one day. :D :D
I personally think promag will do it before tapco.... But we'll see ;)
There is an Ocean of demand for these rifles and their accessories. No one is losing sales here or in canada ;)
Hey, did you guys hear that sage has released the navy seal version of the EBR? Now that, is a must have piece of tacticool :D and no, R.S. It don't come in pink :D :D :rockOn:

I had to remove alot of material under the trigger pad area on mine to get my USGI fiberglass stock to fit correctly. And of the 5 or so other factory made Shortys I saw they looked to have the same deep cuts into the trigger pad area on their factory stocks as mine did.

And were there any problems getting the black feather op rod guide to fit ?? As the barrel profile on the shorty is different as well.

Was the area under the trigger pads on your factory shorty deeply inlet on the factory stock ??
Mine was that way and the others I saw were that way too.
And I assume you got it to pass the trigger test after assembly ??

Any pics ?? As no one has posted a pic of a factory shorty in one of these stocks yet .
