blackfeather stock arrived!

I'm afraid that any possibility of co-witnessing factory irons through a low sitting red
dot requires that the "RS" cheek rest be as low as the wood stock pictured above.

The "low" rear butt stock adapter that ships with the Blackfeather RS allows for the use of iron sights but it is higher than the standard M14 stock comb. This is purposeful. Being able to actually get low enough may also depend on other factors, namely cheek rotundity but certainly, you can use iron sights on the Blackfeather as it ships right out of the box.

Looking at the picture of your hand guard. I would suppose that design constraints is what's making the pic rail stop a few inches from the receiver rather than going all the way back to the receiver?

Handguard is looking good.

Have you determined a release date yet??

I appologize if this has been mention, but I went back about half a dozen pages, and did not seeem to find it.

Thx in advance.

Thank-you for writing and your interest. This afternoon we have a meeting with a waterjet company to set up the production of 3 sets of steel clamps. It is more cost effective to outsource the steel cutting here. The final production SHG hand guard will be completed today before 5pm, therefore, this item will go to full production tomorrow. If problems or concerns are encountered at this stage, we would start the following day. I would estimate 10 business days from today to final machining on these first 100 pieces. The parts would then go to anodizing and plating respectively (+10 days) and then be returned here for final inspection and packaging (same day upon return). I look forward to it.

Thank you for making time to respond.

If my math is correct (20 business days) we are looking arround a months time or so, barring the unforseen.

So More or less the middle to end of February.

Excellent!! Look forward to it!!

Yes sir, as always, I am hoping it gets done faster. Pre-orders are growing slowly as word gets out. I am confident there will be enough supply in the short term, therefore, it is best to watch the web site as I will have the order page up 3-4 days prior to having inventory. Feel free to call to discuss. Cheers, Frank

My scale won't go that low. I will guess 300 grams but it should come in lower due to efficient scalloping on the underside and the left side charging handle opening. I will have exact weight posted once this item is commited to production and is shipping in its final form. I cannot comment on the TRS25, but yes, it is lower than the UTG rail.

Ok, no clamps in the weigh-in here, however, I would epect these 3 clamps to add marginally to the 160 gram total. We've trimmed her down as far as she'll go...

M14.ca that is a much better weight. :D Much more realistic.

I am also interested in seeing the progress on your muzzle brake device. :D Any news on that?

Not buying one more thing until there is a brake which threads onto existing threading on the M305.

Aren't there brakes on the market already? I know OST sells the Battle Comp brakes that should work with the M305 threading.
