Any one had experience with blackhawk/knoxx recoil reducing stock, trying to track one down for my 870.
Everybody online seems to be out of stock.

I'd say it's an improvement over the gen 1 due to less flex in the stock and as a result less cheek slap when you are low on the stock.
These stocks work best with some optics or flip up sights with a higher sight line then a bead sight.

The way the stock mounts to the receiver is a bit more complicated(needs a tool) then the old one due to the change in the anti-recoil design but it's no biggie if you aren't changing the stocks frequently.
The grip comes with different sized rubber inserts but it's a bit hokey and the shape could be better for my hand but it's OK.

Recoil reduction works for me.

I'd try a wanted to buy if you haven't already..... some people don't like these stocks. (probably because they are using a low cheek weld with the stock extended for length which increases the flex during recoil.)

Might actually benifit from the higher sightline, w/14" barrel my bead dissapears, if I could find someone making a higher brass bead that would be the cats pajamas.

The recoil reduction and adjustable stock is more to get the wife comfortable with the scattergun

I'm guessing its a Chinese gun or at least the barrel.
You should Pm badboybeeson and see if he has any XS rails with the peep sight. He was selling a bunch a while back and if you drilled and tapped and then mounted the rail you could use a banded XS front sight and get your higher sight line and even better have the option of mounting a red dot on there for an even higher sight line and easy aim point!

Went down to all my local gun shops today to no avail, one shop had a blackhawk folder in stock that would keep me barely legal. No one had ever heard of a higher brass bead though, one redneck insisted on me using a red tube from a wd-40 can snipped and slipped over the bead...might actually try that tonight:shotgun:

That's funny I did the same thing once, hot melt glued an extension onto the bead made from a pop rivet.

If you want to keep a bead you will need to get a pedestal base soldered onto the barrel and then mount a bead in the base or you might get enough height from the XS tritium big dot that epoxies over the existing bead.

I don't know why Chris @ Canada Ammo can't get the Chinese to come up with a base and mount a bead that actually works......

Ha... pop rivet sounds even better pletty of those lying around, jb weld and a stainless rivet sounds about right.

Canada ammo was out of stock of the 12" grizzly w/ghost sights, so I settled on a hp-9, didnt think the bead was going to be such a hassle

This is on a Canada Ammo backpacker, it had a slightly taller then normal, but not tall enough bead and the rivet minus the pin fit nicely. Not very durable but I wanted to experiment with the sight height.

Finally pulled the trigger on a phoenix kicklite stock yesterday, could not find a blackhwak in stock anywhere. The guys at highcal.ca have great prices so I picked up a magpul front end and a 6 shell side saddle, now the wait begins for magpul to show up next week.
