I have a Garand receiver laying around that I want to build into a 59 semi clone. Nice vid. - dan
Now that I have one actually in-hand, I must admit that my Battle Rifle preference has shifted. Whereas I once favoured the Artillerie Inrichtingen/Armalite AR10 or the folding-stock FN FAL, I now lean heavily towards the lighter weight, shorter overall length and (allegedly) softer recoil of the Alpini or Paradisitti BM59. Additional enhancements such as the integrated Bipod, Winter/Sniper Trigger, Rifle Grenade-launching capability and the integral compensator/flash-hider all help to seal the deal. The BM59 is the far more evolved platform, whereas the M14's Bipod and Compensator are merely add-on afterthoughts....
