BLING BLING: Gold Plated Grizzly "Saddam Special"

We can check, but I believe it is a plasma, DLC, or similar type coating, rather than plating.

From what I've been reading it's done the same way but with a different formula than traditional chrome. Are you guys using three layers in your plating process?... copper, nickel and then chrome? It would just be a different recipe for the black chrome finish. Beautiful, durable black mirror finish with more depth than custom bluing. Here's an article that describes it's process. http://freepages.pavilion.net/nickfull/chrome.htm

Would you be able to do this to my Glock?

Straight Torture Son! 36 Cambers represent!

We can plate most long guns for $150ish. Pistols fore less.

Well f**k. My chinese sks is my test bed for bubba-ing, and I think it needs some bling.
I'm thinking wannabe honor guard sks, but with golden bolt carrier? Or maybe all gold plated?

I want one just for fun. I'd love to see the guys faces if I pulled that out to cut a tree down for firewood.

Gonna grab one next week 4 sure!

Can these take the remington supercell recoil pad with a good fit? would it be the same pad model as the 870 express?

I don't have a "pony in this race", but many plastics can be plated effectively. (not that I'd ever do that to a gun in a million years) The process is called "vacuum metalizing" if memory serves. It's the process used in headlight housings, reflective finishes on fishing lures, plastic/sheet mirror, etc. It's said to be extremely durable, but the amount of "bling" depends entirely on how smooth the surface of the plastic. I've only held a Glock once, and I remember the surface being finely textured.
