Blr

What in the what???
Yeah, it's pretty neat. The barrel is aftermarket. I don't know much about the win 1895 in general, nor this example specifically. Before this thread I didn't know there were takedown 1895s. Not sure if it's a miroku (the markings were probably on the original barrel). It seems more recent than the other 1895s that he had. The recoil pad looks aftermarket as well. Very cool rifle IMO.

I would guess that it's a Miroku, but that doesn't diminish it at all. Is it just the photo or is there no sling stud on the buttstock?

I have a straight grip Blr in.308 with steel reciever and flush mag, nice light hunting rifle, don't mind these short actions at all.I tried a 30-06 and damn near welded my eye shut lol.The blr will slways be one of my favote hunting rifles of all time.

I hav had at least a dozen in diff short actions all were decent shooters.

If I had to sell all my rifles and keep just one, for what I do, this would be it.

I have one from 1978, awesome rifle but ... get a good gunsmith WITH EXPERIENCE, had ejector issues with mine, after about a dozen rounds the chamber would get a bit ... errr ... well it felt like I had to force it open ... these rifles need regular maintenance to keep the action clean so that it doesn't grind up when heated up ...

Overall though, for a '308' rifle it's pretty epic, super light and fun to shoot !
