hi everyone, i got a blue line shotgun from bullseye, looks like a 870 a little bit harder to pump but for the price you cant go wrong,i want to change the stock and forehand its supose to be 870 compatible except for the barrel, the bolt of the original stock is a 1/4 inch fine threads and its a 6 inch bolt, the bolt i have from an old 870 is 8 inch long and bigger, did anybody change the stock on the blue line and how did you do it,thanks.

Hey there...I've changed the stock and forend for magpul furniture with no problems. You can also get a mag extension from S&J Hardware for it.
i wanted to put wood funiture on it,but i might go magpul if i cant use wood, thanks.

Not sure I understand ..... so the 870 8 inch stock bolt will not screw into the blue line receiver?

If AD1974 managed to put a Magpul stock on his blue line receiver then it is the same thread as all other 870s ....
am starding to wonder if my old 870 bolt i had for years is not that at all,if any body has an 870 can you check the size of the bolt, on the blue line its a 1/4 inch fine threads and on the bolt i have from an old 870 its a 5/16 reg threads, all this time i was sure it was for a rem 870,might be a senior moment lol.

I just did a bit of google-foo ... and found this:

"The thread on a Remington 870 stock bolt is 1/4-28 UNF (Unified National Fine). This means the bolt has a 1/4-inch diameter and 28 threads per inch."

Also if you want to install a wood stock you will need a stock bearing plate ... and which goes in between the receiver and the stock.

Remington made a couple of different lengths of stock bolts.
They made 10¼" and 8¼" bolts.
Thread and diameter have always been the same ¼" and 28 threads per inch

I’ve been very curious about this aswell! I was considering the wood gladiator series.

did you have to mod the magpul forehand because i got a new one today and it will not fit the blue line magazine tube, its too small i will have to sand the inside of the forehand

No, I recall it fit without any modifications. Did you get the Magpul MOE forend for the Rem 870? They also make one for a Mossberg 500/590.
yes i did its for the remington 870 i tried to force it and had to use a piece of 2x3 to get it off by bagging it softly, and it only got in for like 2 or 3 inch

I’ve got two Blueline shotguns. I’ve changed both stocks over: one to a magpul, one to a an Ergo (m4 carbine stock and grip adapter) - no problems with either

well that realy weird,am going to go try again just to be sure
i just tried again it will not go on i made sure it was the forehand for the rem 870 and yes it is,its so tight even with wd-40 on the mag tube it will not go on,am thinking they have change the mag tube, its one of the new model i got from bullseye just last week

Oh I’m sorry. Are you tryin to change the foreend?

My magpul forend would not slip on until I sliced the inside of the magpul forend down the middle with a Dremel.

DONT TRY TO TWIST IT ON OR YOU'LL BEND YOUR ACTION BARS LIKE I DID.

Once I bent my action bars, I had to remove them and make sure they are straight with a straight edge - it took some tweaking to get them straight and level again

My Streamlight forend fit just fine but my magpul wouldn’t go until I split it in half from the inside.

Once I split it in half it slid down. I never bothered doing anything about the split. The forend is firmly on and the action bars keep it from tilting side to side.

I ran an appropriately sized Forstner bit through the forend when changing one out on a Norinco 870 copy.
Mag tunes on the Chinese 870's all seem a fraction larger than a real 870.
Seems like someone rounded up when making the drawings.
