Boer War Collector's thread........

South African Flag.

I can't find the old flag anywhere to put on my truck. I DONT want the new flag. I might have to try to make my own sticky. I've seen a few cars with the new flag here in Calgary though.

this place has the old flag. its in TX i think. Also has the AWB flag. Dont know how the heck it got there??
Neat I'll be getting one soon.
Not interested in the AWB they are a bunch of idiots.

type in"south African flag" into ebay search engine...there are "old " style falgs and flag decals on there quite reasonably....

Thanks Lastmag, Actually a friend of mine here in Stoon has one of those ugly Bantu flags on her car and yes justice was done she washed it with the pressure washer and stripped all the paint of it! LOL

I think I'll be getting about 10 flags and swaping them with the "new" one on every car I see here.
And We could have a get together and start a big-ass bonfire/Braai vleis.

local gun shop here has just gotten in a large private collection of Enfiels & such. There is a Boer War Enfield in the collection.
pm me if interested & I can get info

I have a couple metal trade [cap?] badges.. does that meet the minimum? :) I've got the badges for Bugler and Farrier. LOL a military farrier :D. Slightly dated

I'm getting into farriery, for my own benefit, not as a career. It seems that the first farrier school in the U.S. was started by an ex english army farrier. The second was opened by one of his students...

It appears that most of the knowledge and skills used today originated in the military. I guess you might say that horseshoeing is a 'martial art'. ;)

Hi Badger. Lovely example you have. I thought to throw in a pic or two of the ZAR Flag made Pretoria 1901. This is a
state flag that was a capture. I also have a captured 1899 OVS Flag. It appears that some Boers have hijacked much of this site for personal banter unfortunately. In one of the last Switzer Auctions the Toye collection had just lovely examples of Boer rifles that included a minty OVS Guedes Model 1885 rifle in 8mm and a commercial Martini but I can't remember the caliber or manufacture. It would be nice to see pics of those rather than innocuus banter. John
