Any recommendations for brands of boots for us to carry? We have Ridge boots at the moment but I'm not going to carry them any longer. Nothing wrong with them, I just want to try some higher end stuff. I have Danner all lined up so far.

I like the Bates boots (side zip) but not many places around here carry them. I usually get them in the US for about $75 but would be willing to pay a bit more for them in Canada. Wearing them daily for work I always get over a year out of them and they are comfy (and fit my wide feet good)

S&W
5.11

Ryan- if you can bring in more boots, and I can find something I'd like (something from S&W or 5.11- wink wink) I'll buy from you in an instant.

EDIT: And SWAT too. Forgot about them.

Rocky - rugged, durable, flat footed
Danner - Reliable, comfortable, expensive
Bates - Light weight, Sporty feel, ugly designs
Swats - Cost effective, Good styling, short lifespan
5.11 - cool looking, unique features, poor wrokmanship

I wore swats for my whole tour in Afghanistan and they were great even though they wore out. My bates felt like they wanted me to walk faster all the time ( good and bad) and i wear swats when im on domestic duties. Swats are my favourite all around because they are comfy, look clean and classic and they are really cost efficient.

I have always heard the Danners are amazing

Cat has moved the manufacture somehere else and the quality is now close to terrible. I like Vibergs at the moment.

Looking up wellco. everything local is insulated.

Something with extra wide size, such as Danners

I have been looking for a long time, I just don't believe in buying boots online without being able to try them first

Caterpillar? Can never find them really.

Screw Caterpillar. They just closed a plant in London throwing people out of work so they could move the plant to the US for cheaper labour. All this when they had a record year in sales and gross income of $60 Billion.

Why not follow Marks Work Wearhouse lead. They are taking all Caterpillar branded footwear OFF the shelves as a show of support for Canadian workers.

Oakley for sure..

What I'd really like to see regardless of the boot you carry is some sort of sizing chart - maybe something you can print out. It's tough finding the right size when you can't even try the things on!
