Hi Guys I just bought a classic,West German built Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in 300 Weathery complete with Weatherby 2.3/3X10 Scope.
Cannot wait to get her out and give her a roll, wish me luck.

A previous employer of mine had a stunning collection of unfired German Mark V in every caliber they were manuf. in, also a collection of Laser Marks in every caliber all displayed on a oil rubbed hardwood wall...until C 68 required them to be all locked away so he sold them all to one collector south of the border.

For any of you that read Guns&Ammo or Shooting Times in the Sixty's up to the early Seventy's the Gun writer's were saying three things about Weatherby's.To Big To Loud To
Flashy.Even saying that the stock reminded them of a well varnished canoe paddle.

The Weatherby Mark V stock is one of the best stock configurations ever designed for handling recoil. The high comb recoils away from ones cheek instead of into it, while the butt recoils almost straight into your shoulder which reduces muzzle lift.

I have owned and used two 340s, and both were easier to control than most 300 rifles with low comb stocks.

Nice man! “Nothing shoots flatter, hits harder or more accurately” Love the stock design, the short bolt throw, the nine locking lugs and the legacy. Very sweet rifle!

I agree 100%
