Another advantages that go to the AK are the much bigger aftermarket and the much better choice in platforms. While the Yugos are as nice as baseline AK's go, the sky's the limit on that platform. Some of the stuff I've seen on the MAC made me drool (I think the Bulgarians have some nice products on the market). I'd still get an AR.. Well, I'd get'em all if I owned a bunch of warehouses

the svt40 is a piece of crap compared to a yugo ak it does nothing for most of us. you can't just pack up and leave canada, you need a sponsor, job offer or going to school there

This. A full auto AK is like $20,000 plus a very long wait for the transfer.

I miss my SVT-40 sometimes but they are only a good rifle at the $300 mark. The prices they fetch here are absurd. Much better rifles can be had for the price.
