I bought some ammo charger (Stripper clips) at a gun show recently. Does anyone know how to properly load them as the 303 is a rimmed cartridge? I could trial and error, but would rather advice form someone whom actually knows. Thanks.

Doesn't require a video. Baderdog' picture is all you need. Daft enough that they do have to be loaded in a particular way or they jam.

no, although DUDUD is prefered, they can be loaded any way and still function, and even with over lapping every rim backwards in the mag, it will still feed fine (although not a smoothly) provided the mag is fitted correctly, you will probably even find that only the first rim or 2 is still backwards, and the mag has magically fixed the rim alignment of the last 8 once you cycle them. they wouldnt have earned a reputation as such a great battle rifle if it was that finicky

A big part of that was the mil 303 round had a bit of a chamfer on the forward side of the rim, allowing the next round to slide over the rim of the round below it. I have had "rim lock" with commercial 303 brass and it does not ride over it all that well.

Concur, I've always found loading the next round with it's rim in front of the one below it never gave me any feeding problems. Doing it in the traditional way (DUDUD) with commercial ammo often gives feeding problems.

Sometimes I don't know why we even bother. Hand out the best information in the world, throw in pictures taken from the actual Manual......

..... and SOMEBODY will jump up and say that it's wrong!

Lord, but the British, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, South African, Indian, Pakistani, Iraqi Armies (and 50 more) must have been stupid: they all did it the way the Manual shows!

Laugh2, you can lead a horse to water, but sometimes the damn rifle will still jam!:bangHead:

I believe you're confusing loading the magazine by hand vs. utilizing chargers. A weird and wonderful phenomenon happens in the magazine when using a charger, if the charger is loaded as BadgerDog and others have recommended, the rounds stack themselves rim before rim in the mag. (I believe you're doing the same one by one, top feeding the mag by hand...which is fine, just a lot slower.)

If the chargers are preloaded any other way, you will experience a jam (FTFeed). Where in the sequence you experience the FTF, would depend on where it's "F'd" up in the magazine. Either way, RSM's boot would be 8 lace holes up your a$$ if you loaded the King's weapon in such a fashion. It's to the latrines with you, bucket and mop in tow. ;)
