Bought used CZ 527 7.62 and stock started to crack...

ensure your action screws are snug to the appropriate torque weight (can't remember off hand the number) I have thousands of rounds through my Walnut stock version and it is still perfect aside from the bolt breaking in to be very smooth. If the action is not tight (a common issue when new) then movement will occur and crack your stock.

I think I want a 527 synthetic in 223 now ...before they are all gone.
If you see any out there let me know, my go to shops are out of stock.

I bought both the 7.62 and 223 models.... in synthetic...I don't think I would ever want anything else as a bush or drive gun where ranges are ~100meter +/-50 for Deer or smaller. They weigh so little they are practically a toy, your orange coat is possibly heavier. Still compared to the pretty wood stock it is much easier psychologically to bump the synthetic model pulling up to a tree stand on a rope as well. I looked up the CZ website and am very sad to see the 527 is now a discontinued model. glad I have 3, they are amazing little rifles.

Sad to see them go, one of the few guns I’ve owned that felt underpriced.

Would love to put a nice fibreglass stock on it. Wonder if the wildcat for the SAKO L461 could be fit

update: I beded the front recoil lug with JB Weld, loctite the screws, put on a Bushnell 1.5-4.5X scope, which looks really nice btw, went to the range shot about 100 rds no more crack and the rifle holds true through out the time

thanks for your help and I am pretty happy with the result.

What kind of groups did you get out of this rifle?

I am not a good shot, this is at indoor range 30m with CN surplus. I use my range bag as support and target is letter size, scope set to 4.5X

Anyone try stripping the finish off their 527 Carbine, the ones that have cracking issues? I slathered Citristrip on mine, wrapped it up in saran wrap to keep it moist, and left it for a couple hours, much longer than recommended. Didn't touch the finish. Anyone got a chemical recommendation?
