Just got an email - Boyd has finished walnut M1A stocks on sale @US$84. Item number 084-929.
I got mine in the mail a few days ago. I got the one with the bedding slits cut into it. Now I am starting the research on how to properly bed the m-305 into the stock. I don't see any reason why I coulden't use the stock as is until I get the bedding done.?
I am happy with the stock it looks good, I'll post an update when I get all the hardware from my plasticrap Norinco stock onto it.

Clamp your trigger group and barreled action to see what kind of tension you obtain. Then make a decision from there. Glass bedding is not rocket science. In my clinics I teach you to bed things in stages, shorter and smoother learning curve.
Hope this helps,
Barney
As the trigger guard is closed, it clamps the barrelled action into the stock. Ideally the guard will pull up tight just before it latches, and will require an extra push to latch it in place. If it does not do this, bedding the rifle can achive this condition. Bedding will also stabilize the fit of the metal parts into the stock, and help maintain a uniform fit.

Thanks for the post. I just ordered the one with the bedding slots this afternoon. An hour later got an email that it was shipped. $138 with shipping.
Get the byods stock that has the hardware cut out's like this;I am considering getting a walnut stock for the looks, but would like to have the option of bedding the stock later. Will the stock with bedding slots work without bedding?
