Boyd tacticool stock

If that's the case then yeah, price spike. Its probably just Savage being cheap because USPS will ship gunstocks no problem. That's who Boyd's uses. UPS shipping rates are a little cheaper but then they hold your item ransom and will return it to sender if you don't pay within 10 days. Oh and bring a credit card cause they don't accept cash or debit. Credit or MO only. F**kin scammers. My last UPS shipment had almost $90 in brokerage fees. That Ebay seller got a bad trader rating cos he agreed to ship the item USPS after I told him why, but chose to save himself a few bucks by going UPS. Cost himself some business in the long run...

I hear ya on that one. A few years ago I bought some camshaft gears and they were about $40 shipped ups. Brokerage fees were in the area of $65. Sucks but thats just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Did you order a stock from them? A few weeks ago a member was on the phone and the lady said only ups for stocks no getting around it. All the smaller stuff I have gotten was usps

No, sorry, I only ordered magazines, bottom metal, trigger guard and some other stuff. I wonder if speaking to a supervisor at Savage would help?

UPS is waaaay out of the question for me. They're a bunch of thieves, and I've heard they're the subject of several class-action lawsuits over their practices. In my case, the "watershed moment" was when I ordered some screws for my motorcycle fairing - total cost, including shipping (UPS) and applied-at-source Canadian taxes was $14.05. On arrival of my parts, UPS charged me an additional $28.40 (more than twice the amount of the entire transaction) for "duty, brokerage fees and taxes". Every one of these fees was illegal. The items were NAFTA-specified duty exempt, the total amount was below that where brokerage is allowed to be charged, and taxes had already been paid (the company has a Canadian tax number, and pays the taxes directly on your behalf - they do a lot of business with Canadians).

I called UPS to complain. Their offer? They'd return the items to the sender, after I paid return shipping & brokerage fees. So, it would only cost me the $28.40 to not get my parts at all. In the end, I had to pay it (or not get my bike on the road for a trip planned months in advance). I called a couple of federal agencies to complain - no one was surprised, and I was told that there are thousands of complaints like mine on record.

**Sorry - UPS rant over.**

BTW, most of the US companies I deal with have been very understanding about making an exception for me, and shipping with USPS, once the issues were explained to them. In fact, many sites exporting stuff to Canada have changed their policies, and automatically ship USPS to Canada, as a result of all the complaints.

Isnt there no charges for anything under 20 bucks?

I think the limit is more like $50, but yeah, under a certain dollar limit, there's no brokerage fees allowed. Doesn't stop UPS, though - they threw brokerage on an $8 purchase I made (brokerage was almost 3X the price of the item). In that case, I refused delivery & refused to pay any fees at all. Didn't get the stuff I'd paid for, of course, but left UPS with the need to return the item to the sender at their cost (I advised the seller, and they were going to demand UPS return their merchandise). The seller apologized to me, and sent the item USPS at no cost to me.

I have found that most places are accommodating to us as well but not all of them. I always ask so see how they ship before buying if its ups and they wont budge I move to the next place.

Good on you for tellin them to shove it. It does suck though that you didnt get your package.

Aint there anything to consumer can do about that though?
