I saw that, but the Notice for Export Restrictions is still up... maybe they have made application to have the design delisted?

Agreed.... likely a way to make them sound less scary... still upset that royal jacarta is an upgrade but whats a few extra bucks..... love these stocks... they have brought to life several of my old guns including the 870 express I bought as my first gun when I was 16.... it now wears a forest camo boyds and a tru glo turkey barrel....

I just ordered a tacticool from Gary at Big Horn Sales, great guy to deal with and yes the price is a bit more than ordering it myself but I could not get that stock up here. Only way to do it.

Going to order another Boyds for a Ruger Hawkeye in factory synthetic soon, going pepper laminate with some checkering upgrades. What stock design do you guys recommend for the M77 with a low mounted scope?

Boyd's stocks are the ...frugal...alternative to restocking...period. Good thing we are protected from these evil named pieces of laminate. Put a tacticool stock on a otherwise fuddy rifle and it turns into a transformer rifle...becomes a decepticon baby killing, tactical, assault, evil machine. The extra money boyds charges for these means they are able to animate in the safe, defeat the trigger lock, hack the safe combo, and lead the rest of the guns on a killing spree.

I feel so much safer, thank you CBSA, RCMP, and ITAR for preventing these evil pieces of laminate from entering the country.

Sarcasm off.

Makes one wonder, do the people who come up with this stuff....go home at night with a big self actualized smile and feel good about how they protected the country? Just one of those many things Firearms in Canada that makes one shake their head and go Huh???

This is my "Prairie Hunter" that I got last winter. The action is a Ruger M77, Tang Safety model. They are great stocks for the money!

I heard very recently a strange rumor, that one CGN member starting the ball rolling of preventing IMPORTATION to Canada of Boyd's stocks(!!!!) by sending a really nosey letter to the US Department of Commerce?

Henceforth, they got a heavy fine from Uncle Sam and stopped sending some goodies north to us??

Wonder if there is any truth to this?

Wouldn't be the first time. Good reason NOT to buy from him.

No the Comapany was Richards Microfit Stocks out of California.

They were selling pieces of "wooden sporting goods" to the Canadian market until some dip$hit from complained to the State Department.

Richards then determined obtaining an export license was too much money vs. the business volume.

None of those agencies care if you can bring a Boyds stock in, the Americans are the ones creating the hurdles. stop with the nonsense.

The website always gets an error when I try to customize a stock. I can select a few options then it all fails. This this a 'me' thing or are other people having the same problem?

I try to go into the customs option on the stocks, particularly the weatherby S2 but they all do this, and eventually after picking a couple options it just craps out and says there's an error. very aggravating, and now that i know it's just me it's even worse

I tried the web site and it's not very good.Just call them up and talk to a rep. or leave a voice mail and they will call you back.Great customer service for me anyway.

Is this really why? somebody from here complained?

I was wondering how so many people have Richards stocks in Canada, yet they were completely unwilling to even ship to an stateside importer for me

It's not just you. That website is crap. Like LouF said, just call and order by phone.

It's really a shame...before they "improved" their website, I used it multiple times without trouble. Now, nothing but grief.

No truth to it... I received an order every week for months... and one today and one confirmed on the way as I write this... what could someone possibly report? It is ITAR that regulates these items for US export... they already know they are rifle stocks and we are trade partners, not a sanctioned nation...

The Pro-Varmint CAN be shipped to Canada... I have half a dozen of them.

The export limit is $500 US, before shipping.

Richard's Microfit SUCKS... I made three attempts at their products... products were a nightmare and service was worse.

For Boyd's orders, it is best and easiest to just use the online order forms... they are awkward, but the custom options work, the page just refreshes after each selection... just make sure to triple check your selection, and read the fitting details on the stock page BEFORE placing the order...

I have ordered hundreds of Boyd's stocks... they are an excellent product and Randy stands behind his products... excellent customer service.

Yes... Boyd's shipping is high, but even after shipping the total cost is still the best option for an aftermarket stock.
