I have not seen that movie in years. It better be good.
dont expect it to be. we did a bit of vfx on it and its nothing like the origional. it went on hiatus as the studio almost shut down then they decided that chinese as the enemy wasnt pc, so they redid a ton of stuff to make them be korean (cause its okay if the korean are the bad guys)
I still think the Russians and Cubans would have been better than North Korea. Russians can kick some ass once they get their crap together. North Korea is lame.
Disney use to own MGM when it was good. Now they don't have theme park money to bail out MGM. Disney trimmed the fat.i liked the aussie version, they are even making it a trilogy so we do get a more fleshed out resistance story than even the original
and the studio changed it to north korea vs china because it was the only way to get the movie into the Chinese box office. While a lame excuse but understandable considering its a MGM movie and they were/are bankrupt
It will remind everyone that there are other countries that have been invaded and have the population fighting back.........
If a person takes pot shots at an occupying army and they're an Afghan, then they're terrorist insurgents
If a person takes pot shots at an occupying army and they're an American, then they're bad-ass.
If a person takes pot shots at an occupying army and they're an Afghan, then they're terrorist insurgents
If a person takes pot shots at an occupying army and they're an American, then they're freedom fighters
I see what you did there!
I'm not the kind of person to make moral arguments about either of those wars being a good or bad idea. I'm content to say from the safety of my arm-chair that if I was running them I would have waged things differently.
But it blows my mind that American's can be so willfully blind as to not see the parallels between movies like this and their own foreign policy.
(I do secretly hope this movie still has a Hind gunship battle. I haven't seen a good Hind flight since 9th Rota!)
