Brand new .223 available in Canada - NS with FRT

Picked mine up at the Post Office. It looks and feels very nice. I’m pleasantly surprised.

Although I can shoot off my back deck, we’re trying to hustle the little ones to bed. I won’t get to shoot it until tomorrow.

It’s a bit more compact than I remember the MR1 I had seen. I recall the MR1 having quite a bit of distance to reach the magazine. Not so with this hunting rifle. It kept me away from the MR1.

Oh, it says HUNTING RIFLE right on it. It also goes off undeniable hunting rifle vibes. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe the Poly pansies will pee their panties, only time will tell.

Got out to shoot today. No optic mounted but I was checking for function.

Sights had been pretty well centered out of the box but had been POI about 4” low at 50 yards. The first two rounds dug into the ground.

I used a high hold and got everything onto a 6x9” (?) paper back book I was using as a target.

I was using Federal Tactical Bonded 223 62gr LE SP - pretty bougie ammo for a function test but I had some old stuff that needed to get burnt up

Rifle ran flawlessly. Ejection was neat and tidy at about 4 o’clock. 20 rounds fired.

No dents on the brass (?), and no indication that cases are striking the receiver.

Question for those more in the know then me. Is this brass? It’s chrome colored. Is it steal case? 🤷‍♂️ My Google-fu didn’t yield any answers.

Got inside and puzzled over how to raise the POI. I ended up loosening the side screw in the rear sight and using a soft brass punch to gently move the sight up the ramp - no marks, it worked well.

Then I noticed that the front sight is adjustable with an included key (that’s what happens when you read the manual AFTER) I put the back sight where it had been and used loctite to secure the bolt. Then I lowered the front sight with the included key. It’s a clever spring loaded device.

Next up, I’m going to mount an Osight X that I received today on the rail.

I received mine today. Found the magazine catch sticky. Will need to look into it. Also, my stainless steel 10/20 mags won't seat. Only pmags.
I got my steel mags to seat with a bit of modification. Just needed to widen the hole in the magazine by 1/16" on both sides. Seems the magazine catch on the rifle is a tad wider than a standard ar15 magazine catch.

Green or NDP,,,that's funny right there, single digits polling,LOL..they have ZERO chance,,same as always,
It's to show the libtards that even their own people won't vote for them because they're the same crooked and elitist #######s as ever.

It's better than a vote for a liberal.

What a pathetic, sick joke this latest "Turkish Delight" is. There is zero functional difference between this "Hunting"-designated semi-auto and an AR15. It is exclusively about appearance, with the Canadian gun scene lawfully limited to the 1800s for permitted firearms technology. "Neutered Fudd" = OK, whereas anything even remotely "Tactical" ist Verboten! All Heil Elmer!!

It is a wonder that actual progress is permitted to occur in any aspect of our society.....

Really? Trudeau seemed to have a certain affinity for that facial colour....
I’m afraid the Liberals are ahead.

WEXIT is our only hope, but there are so many weak people in the west - so long as their TV keeps working, they can eat fast food, and smoke marijuana, they’ll be content.

Ahead of what Jeff?

Do you know something we don’t?

If yes, please share….:)

Oh. I didn’t mean to be cryptic. I meant ahead in the polls.

I’m still holding out hope tho.

I’m taking this election way too seriously. It’s actually got me downright depressed.
