I also had pretty bad QC issues with a new S&W 617 this year. Thankfully I ran a patch through the bore before taking it to the range (which I always do) otherwise I wouldn't have noticed this.

The vendor who is also a CGN sponsor exchanged the revolver without question for a new replacement. It was only replaced by the LGS because it was unshot otherwise it would have gone through the warranty process. They just don't make them like they used to.

There's a pretty long burr sticking out the edge of the forcing coneNoticed what? I can't tell from the image what the problem is? A crack, piece of machining swarth or what?
I was not sure what I was looking at either, bad forcing cone? looks like wire off a brush also
