Liability issues.
Who knows why they would say that. Probably to avoid any possible CFC/RCMP issues regarding the magazines. The mags are certainly not identical and do have significant differences in them.

LOL, don't thank me yet. Those AIA mags will probably cost you $350 each.
I'll just buy the AIA rifle and get the two mags with it, or is it the other way around

Had a club member bring a springer M1 out to the range, brand new and pleased as punch. It looked great, and made my old girl look really tired. Then he tried to shoot it. Wouldn't feed 3 rounds in a row without jamming. He left VERY upset, and later ended up selling, as after repeated calls to springfield they couldn't offer any help, short of sending it back to their distributor, and that he was loathe to do.

I'll look for it, my dad rarely throws anything out so he should still have it. None the less all it stated the magazine had to either be limited to comply with the 5 round law or surrender the magazine.
