Brand new mossberg full of rust

We just found out about this this AM when we arrived at work and opened the email...sorry I didn't see this originally on CGN. We are offering to replace the gun. Phil.

Typical responce from a stand up supporter of CGN, they get sideswiped on a weekend and then find out Monday morning there is an alleged issue.
Good Peoples at P& D !!!

He has and works for mossberg

Your buddy works for Mossberg?
Still have not seen any positive replies to the retailer for standing up and coming to your emotional rescue, is that to much to ask of the sponsor whose name has been tossed in the mud several times over the weekend?

There is always 2 sides to the story and I personally never make up my mind one way or the other until you hear some facts from the other side. The owner of the gun should be grateful of P&D's offer to replace the shotgun and hats off to them. Even though the OP of this thread stated that it was not the fault of P&D, there are those who have a tendency to skip some lines in a post and thus the blame gets laid on the retailer in a case like this. HATS OFF TO P&D!!

P&D was not sideswiped. or tossed in any mud. There was no more than one vague comment, which I responded to quickly. I would have started a thread whether the rust was found on Tuesday AM, or Friday night. Being pissed off about the gun and warning others, I thought could be helpful to someone. Emotional, not at all, very unimpressed with Mossberg QC, certainly. I responded to P&D as soon as I read Phil's post.

I ordered a gun from there and service was top notch. I will continue avoiding mossberg though - always have.

Yes Mossberg has a love/hate thing with buyers as I see. Both the 870, and the 500 have about 10 million produced so someone likes them. I know 3 guys who have had 500s for quite some time, all like them. I have an old wingmaster, an old 2200, and a dominion arms shorty, all work well.

I have a Mossberg 500 I bought in the 70s and it looks like new and has been a dependable firearm.

Have several myself, although newer than that, but still agree.
Curious the OP stated there was tons of lube on the firearm. Of all the ones I have bought or worked on over the years, each has come bone dry from the factory. Strange
