Brand New to Canada: SG-12 "SPAS"

TI obviously has another winner here, great to see and please keep the ideas coming.

Honest question here though.

I don’t “get” the overwhelming response to this announcement. I’m in my mid 50s and this particular gun is not at all on my radar.

Is it a Terminator thing? (I’d be all over an “Uzi 9mm” myself or a Hardballer with a laser sight.) Or some other pop culture reference has missed?

There is no accounting for taste apparently as I clearly am the minority here.

Probably more Jurassic Park then Terminator. Also in video games like Call of Duty and Half-Life. Also some Anime I don't no where it is disguised as an umbrella. All of us 1990s kids are grown, and some have money to burn on nostalgia, sadly, I am not one, as I am broke :p

It’s just iconic. It’s been in so many movies and video games.

When I was a teenager I went to a buddy’s house to watch the original Terminator. It had already been out forever and I had zero interest in it. I remember thinking, “How good could a movie from 1984 possibly be?”

Well… it blew my hair back. Same thing with Jurassic Park. Took me forever to watch the Matrix too, and I think it’s in there as well.

And there was just something about the SPAS-12 when I was 12–14 years old. It looked so ridiculously beefy that I assumed it must be an EXTREMELY POWERFUL GUN. Like, shoot a bad guy and send him through the wall powerful.

Adult me understands that it’s just a 12 gauge. 🤷

Then there’s the forbidden-fruit aspect. The actual SPAS-12 is prohibited in Canada, despite ultimately being JUST another 12-gauge.

Apparently whoever prohibited it looked at it with the same 12-year-old logic I did:

“Holy crap. Look at that thing. It must be EXTREMELY POWERFUL.”

Except they were supposed to be the experts. 🤦

Can confirm that growing up playing MW2 and BO1 made this an instant purchase for me :LOL:
 
Not that long ago the RCMP "seized" an airsoft spas 12 I had ordered. That sucked and that stupid thing just shot little plastic BBs.

Now I get a chance at a "real" spas, something that will go boom.....in CANADA, and I have to read all these posts about "ohhh but the barrel is an inch too long, ohhhhh there's a screw....I wat a different color, who makes these, can you give me one with a scope rail, like holy bloody hell people get a grip on yourselves.

If you don't like the look of what you're seeing, NO REASON to leave a yelp review over something you didn't even buy.

To TI: Thank you for doing this. It was an unlikely event, I am thrilled and I appreciate you didn't double the $ of these in Canada. I shall resume my sit by the mailbox.

When did our society get so whiney?

Indeed. The Liberals are their own worst enemy in this regard. They obviously didn’t account for the stubborn ingenuity of freedom loving people.

I was googling the crap out of his hat.

Can’t find one anywhere. Closest I got was the Dorfman-Pacific Chin Cord Cotton Aussie. Can’t find it in the right color tho.

I want to LARP the entire scene on my wooded property, using squirels instead of velociraptors.

I'm not being that serious about it. Just getting a cheap "safari hat" from Amazon. Cheap fishing vest.
