Brand New to Canada: SG-12 "SPAS"

Back in from the bush. Gun was really wet from the rain we had earlier. I was hunting squirrels with my boy on our property. Loaded to capacity with five 2-3/4 #8 high velocity steel birdshot.

Ran like a top. Chucked the hulls maybe 5-6 feet.

I have other semis that will not cycle this ammo.

I should add that I didn’t clean or lubricate the shotgun - too lazy. It’s out of the box.

I found out what the hook was for when my little boy needed both my hands to help move a big branch he wanted to bring home (he’s like a golden retriever that way)

what brand you running for ammo through it??

Seen something earlier today about the magazine extension not being permanently pinned to 5 rounds on these semi shotguns and they can be very easily removed because it just long bolt that's not welded in? is this the case for the ones that TI is bringing in and if so are they being taken care of ?

That would be one tough thing to explain if someone was found with this without knowing.

Also looks like the post was taken down cant seem to see it any where.

Man seeing people enjoy a gun we never thought wed have access to even when times were good is a major morale boost in these dark times. Im glad there are businesses willing to go through the endless hassles of govt buII#### and whiny naysayers to bring us this stuff.

One thing I found is that it’s more practical in use than I had originally thought.

Folding the stock makes it shorter moving through the bush, using the hook as a handle. Then, when I spotted a squirrel, I could quietly unfold the stock and line up my shot.

The rear ghost ring is huge, and I don’t usually like ghost rings for little squirrels that are moving. Dark squirrel on a dark tree - I prefer a fibre optic.

In this case, though, the large ring allowed me to track the squirrel as it ran within the rear ghost ring, then centre the post and ring to make the shot.

Almost like anti-aircraft sights… or so I understand them.

My shipment should be in on Tuesday, I have high hope going by the reviews and field test that have been written. I will be doing a full disassembly and cleaning/lubing as this seems to be a non favorable XFactor in initial testing.

I've been legitimately falling asleep, thinking about this unit.

Seems to be a one-off, we tried removing the blockers on a few different mag extensions with gunmsith punches and they weren't coming off...

I can confirm that my mag extension limiter is firmly affixed and will not come out without destruction.

The rioters would disperse upon the sight of the SPAS-12. Everybody who plays FPS video games or watches action movies knows what the SPAS-12 can do .. how they know it’s a Turkish clone?

That's a fair point, I'll take that. I wouldn't mess with one of these now that I know they are in civilian hands and very likely DO go boom.

I would also like to tender my previous request for an AICS AWM stock reproduction, and to do the short barrel version of the SPAS for the next order. Also, could we please ask Beretta nicely for the rights to manufacture Valmet's again for the Canadian market...

Or another way to look at it, One can buy 2 for what somebody foolishly paid for one. That one day flip is more like robbery. Nothing like getting taken for a grand.

Maybe use tools, Also mess with spring etc. Go town Crier when it doesn't work
