Oh it started out as not important at all.......

I saw "Brantford" and I thought Hey I will know that person since I know most of the people in Ontario who shoot......but I did not recognize the name.

So I did a quick check on the membership list and did not find it........

THEN I had a mystery!! I hate loose ends like that........they are so untidy.

I am certain that the explaination when/if it is found will be totally logical. I just do not know what it is at this time..

Time to break out the scooby snacks!

I think/hope that there is no chance of it being a bogus letter.

Just think about it........just how stupid would you have to be to pick a city in ONTARIO CANADA for your ficticoius author to live in.
Personally I would pick Springfield USA as there seems to be a Springfield in every damned State!
(oh and one in Ontario Canada.........real nice place with great people!)


Considering the ...........ahem.......problems associated with the IPSC WB and certain members of the Ontario section.

Unless........Hmmmmmm Unless it were an attempt to make it seem like everyone in ontario other than the trouble maker types was as happy as pie with the WB situation (which may very well be the actual case) and wanted to put forth evidence of that.........

I live in Brantford, Ontario though....I know of two other members that live here - chime in if you do!
 
Unlike so many places in England that find themselves also in Canada, particularly Ontario, such a Scarborough, Grassmere, Windermere etc., Brantford was named after Joseph Brant, a native Canadian, so the possibility of a duplicate is few and far between.

Google and Wickipedia both point to Brantford in Ontario.
 
My guess is that they missapplied the name of the author to the location of another author from Brantford.

Shortly the Branfordite who did send in a letter and or this "Robert" character will contact IPSC (VP) and point out the error.

I always find errors in magazines in particular gun magazines and books...........I chaulk it up the the incredible amount of work that must go into creating one of these things that something must fall through the cracks..

But as I pointed out, it fails the logic test....How do you write in about a magazine you haven't seen yet in order to get it published in the very first issue in existence? The regional directors may have seen an advanced copy...but someone from Brantford?

Yes I can explain. It's more Vinny/IPSC bashing. It's a nice magazine but to start a thread just to query who wrote a letter is so petty and childish.

Mr. Stormbringer, shame on you for starting this.
