Brantford

Why do you talking about power? If you run for president, that won't affect the voting system or anyone's power.

I think this hole thing is not about power but democratic distribution of votes based on size and activity of the region.
We can not allow a region with 50 members and 10 matches behind the belt to have as much say as regions with thousands of members and lots of L III and higher matches.
It is simply unfair and it is very easy to manipulate those who are small.

I am wondering why this thread has not been locked already. this is only giving pleasure to the anti ipsc group and probably more to the anti-gun crowd. i feel this has gone too long and is just occupying disk space that can be utilized more efficiently.. nothing else to see here, time to move on.

Wasn't it Mr. Stormbringer who said USPSA has 20,000 members but only 1 IPSC Level III match a year? Macau has around 300 members but they have 2 Level III a year, and it was the same in HK until serious mudslides caused by a typhoon destroyed our range (now being rebuilt).

Membership numbers still has nothing to do with Mr. Stormbringer running for IPSC President.

That was very nice of you, but of course I have no idea why he didn't attend.

I do not know either.

I do not know why my emails were not replied to.

I do not know why he seemed to avoid the Canadian Squad at the Pan Ams

I do not know why he ate his meals at the Pan Ams in his rooms instead of in the tent with the officials and competitors.

Again as per the start of this thread I do not likey unknowns so I try to find answers.

Everyone running for any office should have a platform of what they see as th future of the operation. Do you not agree?

That is becuase they operate under the auspices of USPSA my dear. Nice try though.

It has EVERYTHING to do with that. It is how the votes are counted.

I am wondering why this thread has not been locked already.

Because it does not break any rules. At CGN we do not lock or delete threads on a whim.

this is only giving pleasure to the anti ipsc group and probably more to the anti-gun crowd.

As I said at the Club rep meeting..........if you do not want your dirty laundry discussd in public. The one SURE way to prevent it is to NOT s**t THE BED in the first place.

i feel this has gone too long and is just occupying disk space that can be utilized more efficiently.. nothing else to see here, time to move on.

You should take a look at some of the OT threads in that case. This is a golden thread in comparison.

USPSA as you know is not IPSC like any other IPSC Region. They have more LIII matches then any other region in the world.
I don't care if John runs or not, this is not an issue, if he would run he will have my 100% support. What I am trying to say is Macau with 300 members have same say as Canada with 2000. This is unfair.

Well not to worry...I will gladly offer up my basement for you to all continue on with your...ahem...Action Air matches...or was it air action...or....

:D

Don't say it...everyone already knows ;)

I don't remember calling him a "Douche Bag"!
My apologies. I checked and I was not surprised to see it was Madness.

I do not know why he ate his meals at the Pan Ams in his rooms instead of in the tent with the officials and competitors.
You even find fault where he eats his meals?? Maybe he was having meetings with people?? For God's sake, man, give up on the conspiracy theories. You're like a broken record criticizing everything about IPSC. Why don't you get IPSC Canada to quit IPSC and become a subsidiary of the USPSA you love so much?

Yes, I do agree. If you ran for President you could mention all the other ways you'd improve IPSC and leave changing the voting structure until a couple of years after you're been elected and quietly taken everyone's temperature. Promising something then going back on your word is one thing. Holding items "in reserve" for future study is another thing.

For example you could highlight your success with your charity match and say you want to extend that on a worldwide basis.

USPSA as you know is not IPSC like any other IPSC Region. They have more LIII matches then any other region in the world.
USPSA matches have different divisions and different rules, so the USPSA matches are as much IPSC matches as IDPA matches are IPSC matches.

How many members in each Area in Canada and how many votes do they each get?

Mr. Quigley, I know you're joking, but thank you for being a nice man.

You know I thought that was possible on the first day........and the second day.

That was until I noted that everyone else was in the tent. It was just really really odd. I was not the one who first noted it or mentioned it.

I would actually LOVE Canada to fall under the umbrella of USPSA. The trick is finding out HOW to acomplish this feat. I do not however criticize EVERYTHING about IPSC, just those things that are wroing.

Here is a quick list

1) GV moderation
2) Voting system with a lack of proper representation
3) loss of Metric Target
4) inability to place 2/3 target in same stage as standard Target.

Thats about it..........

That sounds a bit underhanded and is not the way I operate. One need never have to wonder what I am thinking as I am quite vocal in my opinions.
For example you could highlight your success with your charity match and say you want to extend that on a worldwide basis.

Not even close.........you show your ignorance. The differences are very small but strangely important.

How many members in each Area in Canada and how many votes do they each get?

That is a good question........let me endeavor to find out. From my knowledge it is a scaled down problem from the world situation.

Living in Ontario I get 1/1000 or so of a vote.

Other provinces get more like 1/50 of a vote or so.

Mr. Quigley, I know you're joking, but thank you for being a nice man.

He is a very nice man..........
Actually I think that most of the people in this sport are nice.

I think that Vince is nice. I think you in real life are nice.
I KNOW that I am nice.
It is YOU who seem to hate people however.

i cant figure out which is more disturbing...someone using a supposedly "fake name" or someone that is so concerned about who wrote a letter.

i wonder who this guy from brantford really is...

The voting in IPSC Canada is on a sliding scale (I vote for up to 20 members in the Section...and one additional vote everytime that number doubles - 40,80,160,320...etc)

It prevents any single section (for example Ontario with more than 50% of the members in Canada) from controlling the agenda. I honestly don't see it as an issue...

Having the voting based on number of members per section may sound good...but in my humble opinion it would split IPSC Canada right down the middle...

Also remember...the sections in Canada only exist within Canada (managed through the IPSC Canada Constitution) They are not recognised beyond our borders. Our memberships are actually with IPSC Canada.

...sips coffee...waits patiently for Madness to chime in and say we don't needs Sections...

10...9...8...
