Just thought I would throw out a bit of recent experience. I reload a lot for a M1 Garand rifle and AR 15 and someone somewhere suggested that I should throw strips of Bounce cloths into my tumbler to speed up the cleaning process. I have been doing this for about a year but really have not seen much difference in the brass even tho the Bounce strips come out of the tumbler black. So today I decided to experiment and did the same in the tumbler with no brass. The Bounce strips still came out black. Apparently the Bounce strips clean the media but make no difference in the time it takes to clean brass. In my humble opinion the cleaning capability of corn cob media is in the rough edges of the individul kernals and the Bounce strips may clean those kernals but certainly can not restore those rough eges. How am I doing so far? Any comments ? Also would like to discuss the benifits of using small base dies in resizing 30-06 brass for the M1 Garand.
