1945 Inglis Mk 2 Bren, 7.92x57mm. There's no rust on the gun, it's just worn finish that looks that way under the flash.

Beautiful looking old girl.... :)

I actually qualified on it back in the early 60's before they issued us C2's, which I thought wasn't anywhere near as good as the Bren.

Badger

I remember learning how to "operate" (no ammo) and change barrels in a .303 Bren in Cadets at Clinton Collegiate Institute in about 1957. We had a fully functional one (not DP) but were never able to prevail upon our instructor to take it out and shoot it despite our offer to buy the Ammo. That was before the country became politcally correct and it was unthinkable to let secondary school students touch military hardware. Ce la Vie!

My dad was a Bren gunner in WW2 over in North Africa / Sicily / Italy...

I sure wish I was able to own one just to put with the gear he left me......

Thanks for the pics of that. That's one sweet piece of machinery..

Many thanks ;-)

Quick question....what's the width of the widest portion of the receiver?

NS

Will measure for you tomorrow, NS.

Nice pictures, Stevo!

I'd rather have one in 7.92x57mm than .303 British.

Is the mag 20 or 30 rounds?

20 round mags, neutered of course.

Very nice.... you sure don't see those Chinese contract Bren's around unlike the Sten's which seem to be everywhere at the moment. Good score.

Well, it's not exactly a new score. It was the first gun I ever bought with my own money. Paid $850 for it, 4 mags and a case of ammo in 1986. Took it out gopher hunting the next day.

Man, where did you find that?

Not too many lend lease brens left. If you ever want to sell it let me know.

By the way did you know they used to put the lend lease sticker on the brens as well as the Hi powers?
