Brenneke shotgun slugs

Looking to purchase Brenneke slugs in 20 and 12 gauge. Anyone know which dealers stock them? Thanks.

Good luck with that ... :)

Check the related sticky at the top of this Ammo forum. Ammo Supply in Calgary is hoping to import some Rio shells with Brenneke slugs. Check their forum and contact Moderator Kate to get put on the waiting list.

Along with me. :)

You can order them from Irunguns (US site). They have quite the variety.

May I ask if you have actually done that personally? I do know that firearms move smoothly ... my neighbour just received a nice CZ .223 rifle.

But ammunition?

Brenneke slugs are the proverbial unicorn in this country. In all my searching, I've only known of one retailer (local) who said she MIGHT be able to source some through one of her suppliers, but the cost was, IIRC, $5/slug.

I'm eagre to try Brennekes, as I've been told they are the holy grail, but not $5-a-pop eagre.
At that price, I'll stick with the various Gualandi & Thug-Slug incarnations out there.

I'm down to my last 3 boxes. Years ago I ordered them through my local gun store, Hub Sports in Abbotsford and they got them in no problem.

I got a box of these from my local store for $21 per 10 slugs... Not to bad. I carry them in my 930 when in bear country.

I've got nine of the original 15 Black Magic Brenneke slugs that I bought at Gander Mountain Sports somewhere in North Dakota ... back in the day when it was OK to take ammunition from the Excited States to Canada. I gave/sold/traded one box of five to my neighbour (we both live in Grizzly country) and stupidly wasted one Brenneke shell (along with three totally expendable 00 Buckshot shells) on a PC that had been giving me major grief.

Apparently Irunguns wont ship them to Canada. It has something to do with their agreement with the manufacturer on distribution rights. I've also heard the manufacturer is trying (and has been for a long time) trying to get them into Canada.

I ordred and recieved 15 boxes of brenekke black magic 3 inch magnum slugs. i posted a pic with total cost and time frame in the recent purchases thread.

i also ordered some 40 cal speer gold dots and recieved them as well.

You may be right though just the same, from what I understand its Natural resources Canada thing.

i just got an update from irunguns. they have all the ammo taken off their us website tell they go through their entire inventory to see whats approved by natural resources canada. i guess they had to do a few refunds as folks ordered stuff that wasnt approve. once they go through their inventory then all ammo that you see on the us site will be importable. guess i got lucky.

So what youre saying is, the post I made just a few moments ago may be correct????? It may not be a distribution rights problem, rather a Natural Resources Canada issue on their sale in Canada?

Yes, I think that they messed-up and you did get lucky. All the detail is in the recent posts in the Sticky at the top of this forum. NRCAN has not approved them.

Yes, I recently researched all this thoroughly ... and it's all in the Sticky.

Buddy really lucked-out, and IRG in the U.S. might now be in serious poop if the DHS is following this thread.

Crap. I'm waiting for my shipping invoice. I guess that I might be getting a refund instead.

I doubt they would be in any sort of trouble with DHS. The issue stems from the Canadian Government not allowing the product into Canada until its approved for sale here, not the DHS saying they cant export it. I highly doubt they were exporting anything without the appropriate US Permits and paperwork in place.
