Brigade Makasi MK15 First impression box opening

Those who are baleing, are you not concerned that a precedent has been set when they banned other IWI products (x95, Tavor 7)?
I wouldn't base my decision off this, they've banned single shot rolling actions before. Let's just be happy we have some semi autos coming. The used market will do its thing, I'm not worried either way. Let's be real, most people are just plinking anyways, look at the success of the TM22.

Decided I’m going to give this rifle a chance. Will stick an aftermarket trigger in it and give it a 1000 rounds. If it looks like it’s going to beat itself to death I’m going to sell and buy fish rifle

Mainly I’m just too lazy to go through hassle of changing my pre-order
So real. So funny to see so many dudes bailing after one review lol. People in the states have had this rifle a lot longer than us and speak highly of it. Both the Makasi and Carmel weren’t the biggest commercial successes in the US, there’s probably a reason for both.

I hope that those who have changed their mind will find satisfaction with the IWI Carmel. If utter reliability is the hill you die on, that may indeed prove to be the wisest choice. TIme will tell.

I will be sticking with the Makasi until it is demonstrated to be either wildly inaccurate at more than 2 MOA with my bulk 62 gr LEO bonded SP ammo, or unreliable with more than 1 stoppage in 100 attributable to the rifle after a suitable break-in period. I will view GT'S findings with interest in the interim and may move away from the platform if his experience varies from the near-universally positive reviews that I have read and watched online. I very much doubt that will happen, but occasional lemons do admittedly occur.

I really do hope that the Makasi is an accurate and reliable performer to help me whittle down my 5.56mm and .223 cal ammo holdings. I will buy a Carmel if left with no alternative, but it is far from my first choice for the reasons already stated by others.

Personally, I bailed on my Makasi pre-order before I saw this thread. I had money down for both a Makasi and a Carmel, but I realized that, realistically, I could really only afford one. Going with IWI, with their history of robust, reliable guns, was for me a no-brainer.

Now that I've seen the review, the Makasi's starting to feel a bit like the M10X a few years back - good reviews in the US, great design, looked terrific on paper.... but poorly executed.

I was expecting XCR quality. Looks like we may be getting WK180 quality instead. I may regret cancelling..... but kinda glad I did at this point though.

the reviewer hasn't even shot it yet. reason that there aren't many reviews in the states is because you can get AR-15's cheaper. so, people just haven't bought alot of the Makasi mk-15. the reviews i have seen are good.
