Brigade Makasi MK15 We're back in business!!

They will start at the source (the dealer), then work their way via reference #s all the way to the owner. They are pushing hard to ban everything. Wouldn’t be surprised if they go this route.
Highly unlikely.

They’re struggling to collect even the handful already turned in through existing channels.

Their own estimates on how many newly prohibited firearms are out there have been low (figures like 150,000 have been floated). Do they really want to go looking for more? The budget is capped, and there is little appetite from Provinces and Police for such endeavors.

Going back through sales records for formerly NR firearms would mean store-by-store records, lawful access, paperwork, and warrants where required. That’s not a scalable enforcement model. And really, why bother? - they know we’re not the problem and they’ll have their stunt for votes already.

Far more likely a firearm comes onto the radar some other way first - call for service, complaint, domestic, border issue, warrant on something unrelated, etc. Then enforcement follows from there.

And trying to prove present possession/location from an old sales record alone is weak. Maybe part of a bigger picture, sure, but not much by itself.

That’s usually how these things work in the real world of law enforcement. My guess is illegal guns will show up, but they’ll show up with wads of cash, drugs, and by people known to Police - just as they always have.

They can’t if you have multiple reference numbers. For example, the rifle I bought after the reference numbers were first initiated would literally be impossible to track down if I sold it. I’ve had many purchases and sales since then. Police need judicial authorization to even access the business records at the start of this chain.

You can obtain reference numbers for anyone who you know has a license, and they you, to further exacerbate things should you choose.

They do NOT have the resources to track these down.

Let's hope Palantir is not going to work with Canada on gun registry or Canada is not going to buy Palantir foundry because they are not willing to use Canadian workers.:ROFLMAO:
