Bringing a Tavor to the US

I believe they're all made in Isreal but US models are assembled, or "made" in the USA.

they are made 922r compliant. IE can't have more than 10/20 foreign made parts.

For purposes of this section, the term imported parts are:
(1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings or stampings
(2) Barrels
(3) Barrel extensions
(4) Mounting blocks (trunions)
(5) Muzzle attachments
(6) Bolts
(7) Bolt carriers
(8) Operating rods
(9) Gas pistons
(10) Trigger housings
(11) Triggers
(12) Hammers
(13) Sears
(14) Disconnectors
(15) Butt stocks
(16) Pistol grips
(17) Forearms, hand guards
(18) Magazine bodies
(19) Followers
(20) Floor plates

No, Chinese would be banned and less then 18" is a short barreled shotgun which is a 200$ tax stamp NFA item. So that's a double no. Temporarily is one year the permit is valid for.

You can definitely bring Chinese shotguns into the us. 100%... I saw canadaammo at the shot show one year and they had their mag fed shotguns.

Yes you can still bring brand new machine guns too, only if you have proper clearance as a dealer/manufacture. Not for the general public.

I do believe shotguns are in fact exempt. If someone was so inclined you could in fact bring Chinese shotguns for commercial sale in merica...

They would of course be subject to barrel length restrictions.

You can, just can't permanently export as Canada will not give export certificate. One of the conditions attached to Colt Canada is Canadian civilian use only. Not exportable.

Didn't know about the permanent export condition. Thanks!

Update,

X95 & SAR21 is okay. good luck finding a nonrestricted one here...or a barrel kit to convert to a legal non restricted.

let us know if you have the same experience gunslinger.

I've just had the same experience. everything approved except the Tar21. waiting on which ones would be approved... if its a x.x-generation thing... or place of MFG.

I emailed the ATF about the X95 as well. They are calling in additional help to determine if its a no-go. Will post here if I get a reply.
