Brinks Changing to autos??

When the Cocaine Bandit was active in Winnipeg, he got into multiple shoot outs with armored car guards. He wounded one of them and was also wounded by them on one occasion. This was when they were still using revolvers. He mostly used Rem 870's which he cut down after stealing them from gun shops at gun point.

THE YULETIDE BANDIT: A SEVEN-YEAR SEARCH FOR A SERIAL CRIMINAL (2004)

Winnipeg police dubbed Michael Syrnyk “The Yuletide Bandit” following a series of dramatic, daylight Christmastime robberies in 1998, 1999 and 2000 that left citizens fearing for their safety and police searching for an apparent psychopath. One of Syrnyk’s most notorious shoot-outs occurred during a December 2000 robbery outside Polo Park Shopping Centre, Winnipeg’s busiest mall. Dozens of Christmas shoppers - including senior citizens - dove for cover as bullets flew and glass shattered.

I was a security guard at Polo Park Shopping Centre when this happened, My shift was in the evening that day. So I missed the shoot out by 3 hours. there was a few bullet holes around the front doors & one that passed through the glass & entered the mall. Only the The Yuletide Bandit was hit in the ankle bone that I recall. Note he was wearing body armor that was stolen from the Spy shop.

Never heard of them... I like the look though. Wonder how this is going to affect those in the "semi auto's are fragile dangerous finicky guns, unlike revolvers that can take a beating and still function" crowd?

In with the Crowd

Never heard of them...

Where have you been, my man? They've been the talk of CGN for many months now...even making inroads with the Glock or Die and the I'd Rather Die than Glock crowds :)

That's the same crowd that is heard to say "I'm the only one professional enough in this room to handle a (BANG!) semi-auto...is there a doctor in the house?"

I've been living in the land of the student. Rarely does anything with a price tag over $200 appear there. There have been known to be exceptions though... what're their prices like?

Touche, now I am going to go watch that video again.:D

that's unfortunate about the 4" bbl... I guess they won't be selling any to the public!

Bigger Market in the US anyways. I'm sure Smith & Wesson has worked out a buy back deal where they will take back the revolvers and credit Brinks against the M&P 40's then smith will dump them on the Civilian Market in the US.

The buyback was the clincher for the RCMP to go to the S&W semi-autos, unfortunately, it is hard to find RCMP marked model 10s. In any event, on-duty armored car guards are statistically less likely to have to deal with a deadly threat than a member of the general public...so we should allow arming for citizens too!
