Brinks M&P

Dont feel like reading everything, but they are required to have a 16.5lbs trigger pull, everything else is the same including magazines as only LEO are allowed to use mags with higher capacity. The one cool thing is the employees can buy a personal one with the same settings for the same price brinks/G4S get them for (according to a former operations manager).

There is no such thing as an M&P with a 16.5 trigger - they go as high as 10, only on special order. The 3 triggers available are; standard (5-6 LBS), Mass (8LBS) and LE Special Order (10 LBS). The Mass trigger is made heavier using an HD sear spring and trigger spring, the LE trigger is made heavier by changing the ramp angle of the trigger bar, in combination with the Mass springs.

Wouldn't doubt it... was not a reliable source even though he worked for them

The armour guard companies have the choice of getting regular factory magazines with more than 10 rounds.
But most of the companies choose not to get regular factory magazines because of paper work if they loose those prohibited magazines.

And g4s guards use prohibited revolvers.

Found these on the web wayupnorth:

i was interesting in seeing one of these in person.

time has gone by then last week i found myself in a unique situation.

no, i wasn't robbing a armored car!
i was sitting in my Ambulance and i noticed a Brinks Van in front of me me.
we where on a small ferry that they use up in the far north to get across rivers... more of a barge really.
so we had like 5 minutes to kill.
i got out and was stretching my legs and one of the guards got out to do the same.
we got to talking and i asked him how he liked the M&P 40.
after chatting for a bit i asked if i could see the Brinks stamp on his, he showed me, was neat to see.
he was saying that they all have been switched over to them and that he was never offered to purchase one from the company.

it was a neat little 2 minutes conversation.

At the very least I could lose my job. Last thing I need is someone asking why I'm curious about what the guards carry for protection. I work with enough questionably intelligent people who already look at me a little funny because I'm one of only two firearms owners employed there.

They can't fire you for that, its called a wrongful dismissal. Learn your rights as an employee.. As for Brinks or G4S, they're running autos now. They've progressed into the 20th century, unfortunately their hiring and training practices have not. I would not be surprised if your local "guard" hasn't a clue what make or model of pistol he carries.

soo true.. brinks had a freeze/ limit on fulltime positions. they are hiring part time guards who are able to work 40+hrs a week but on contract.. once a F/t position opens up they qualify to apply for it. i really think the whole long term contracts working 40+hrs a week in any industry is bs.
out of every 100 employees on a temp contract position you get maybe 1 or 2 who are actually good, when was supervising my last job i was giving on average 3 people the boot a month just out of incompetence, most of the good ones didnt want to stick around (one guy is on here). in a rare occasion you get someone holding out for a certian position somewhere else but they know it could be 1-2-3 yrs and they are fine with it.

as for the brinks guns, i spoke with one money collector one day (well a few times the machine was next to my office so we would talk guns)
they have a M&P 40 (as pictured above) they start out with a 9mm something else i forget what it was until they qualify with the M&P. there use to be a revolver they can quality on to use, i thought it was a newer model by the sound of it but he told me most guys stick with the M&P and buy one themselves to practice with.
from what the guard told me most the guys there are horrible shots, and i think he said its at 5 yrds but dont quote me on the distance.

Back in the day I had the horror of watching more than a few "classes" of new recruits and seasoned staff shoot their qualification course and "train". The skill set is barely enough to be called safe and is far from competent for personal defense.

Oh the horror's you must be going through

Let's hope they have had some trigger jobs don on them, crap pistols if they haven't.

Yeah right the only trigger work they might get would be adding a much heavier trigger. I'm not sure if they have to have the law enforcement trigger but I imagine they do.

Saw two Brinks guards carrying the m&p in Toronto, didn't know what they were at first, they look atrocious. Go back to your revolvers!
