One major change:
They want to ensure the griz have hors d'oeuvres.
One major change:
I see that the NDP is moving fast to ruin hunting in british columbia.
I also see that these regulations are pure bullsh*te and will do nothing but increase poaching.
Was out ice fishin today with a rather large group of 100 mile house locals and the entire group pretty much agreed that if they move ahead with all these bogus restrictions based on sentiment from anti hunting groups...... they are just gonna get thier deer regardless.
There is a very large pecentage of long time rural hunters that are becoming very jaded with the stupid decisions based on politics and not animal numbers. There are loads of deer around these parts. The populations are very healthy. Heck even the moose populations in many parts of region 5 have rebounded quite nicely but have learned to avoid the roads. I found many bulls out late season mulie hunting, bulls that seemed to easily survive the fires and hunting season LOL
Here in BC we are about to be hit with the largest anti hunting push we have ever faced. I'm having none of it.
the only hunts i want to see changed/end are Cow and Calf moose hunts province wide and all Bull hunts changed to mature bulls only, No spikers. The region 5 rut closure that was done to favor the BC guide industry and I want to see an abrupt end to the Youth Doe season.
and that's it..... oh wait..... I want to see black bear hunting on haida gwaii returned to it's pre christy clarke status and I want to see Grizzly bear conservation hunting put back into practice.
I would also Like to see an immediate end to foreign ownership and employment in the BC hunting and sportsfishing guiding industry as well as NO foreign ownership or employment in Wildlife viewing industry.
that's it haha
On another note ...................
While there are no wild or feral hogs on Vancouver Island apparently there are turkeys. Just like hogs on the mainland - if the regulation passes - there will no bag limits or closed seasons for V.I. turkeys. Sort of makes up for the whole Grizzly fiasco eh?![]()
Why would there be no season or limit on turkey on the island?
I truly believe all this to be 100% correct.
The outsiders moving in should be a concern to all.
They will buy up guide areas and cater to their brethren.
Then it will turn into a private hunting camp such as which is
happening to some lakes.
Private access only.
It's an old wives' tale that circulates now and again along with sasquatch sightings.
You don't know this to be a fact.
Come on, prove antis have been buying LEH cards.
One major change:
There are a few misguided soles (I actually met one) that do purchase LEH cards but they are no good unless they 'win'. Why bother with the nickel & dime stuff when you can purchase whole hunting territories then shut it down to hunting.Come on, prove antis have been buying LEH cards.
Seems only fair to include the rationale for the change:.

I should have clarified my post by referring to guiding territories. Yes, you are correct. You, me and any other BC resident are not excluded from hunting these areas.Guiding territories in BC are not for the exclusive use of the owners. I, as a BC resident, have the right to hunt everywhere on BC crown land that I can get my ass to. The exceptions are timber and mineral harvesting areas that have restrictive access right granted to them by the province under the guise of "public safety".
Also, if a guiding territory is not used for it's intended purpose the rights will revert to the crown who can resell it.
Come on, prove antis have been buying LEH cards.
Who cares if non hunters are buying tags? You get the benefit of revenue from license sales without more hunters on the ground killing said game. Less hunters, more game. Should we not be encouraging non hunters to purchase tags?

Boo, those huge domestic turkeys have escaped and turned feral? Are there wild turkey out there?
