Brno 21H enthusiast club

What scope do you have on there?
I was under the impression that the Warn rings won’t be high enough?
It’s good to know though if that’s not the case

My Brno is the one with the round bolt and not the butter-knife style......designed to accept lower scopes. I'll soon find out once I receive it back from the gunsmith...it's being jeweled. I think that the Warne mounts will work with the butter-knife handle, however the ocular bell must be small and not large. Scope is a Leupold VX2 4x12x40AO. The objective bell barely clears the rear-sight, over a deluxe slot blank, which I installed.

Ah that makes sense.

Who's jeweling the bolt for you?

Crawford's Crosshair Gunsmithing, out of Airdrie. The jeweling should be completed this week. I've been chomping at the bit to get to the rifle range. My load development is ready to go, just waiting for the bolt.

Small world I subscribed to your channel because of this video.
Do you mind sharing you 154gr/H414 load?

Sure. I ended up stopping at 47.0 grains with 154 grain Spire points when groups had shrunk to about 3/4 MOA. I am using S&B brass which has a bit more capacity than Remington. Velocity is at 2600 fps. This is pretty much all I shoot in it now.

Thanks
I've got loads of those bullets, and a whole wack of H414 to try with it.

I see Nosler and Hornady claim 48.5gr of H414 and 154gr Hornady as max for the 7mm/08, but that load would make me nervous.
47gr seems more kosher to me than 48.5gr

Do you seat your bullets at the interlock ring or longer?

the Brno has a long magazine and a long throat. I can use 280 Remington loads in mine with the bullets seated way out.

Yes, a very long throat and magazine. My COAL with the 160gr. accubond is 3.304" which fits nicely into the magazine. At 3.304" it is .064" off the lands. I'm positive that if a 160 or 175 gr. round-nose or even the partition is utilized, seating of the bullet will be closer to the lands when fitted into the magazine. The ogive is closer to the bullet tip and not as elongated, such as the accubond type bullet.

They are beautiful little rifles. The first time I held one, it changed my thoughts completly on what a hunting rifle should be. I have 2 brno 21h, my first is a round reciever in 6.5x57, and my 2nd is a flat receiver in 7x57. I need to weigh mine but my square reciever 7x57 is redicoulsy light, and much lighter than the round reciever 6.5. Is that normal?
I'm in search for a 7x64 and a full stock in any cartridge. Let's keep these gorgeous little rifles to ourselves.

Strikes a man deep when he picks one up :)

I can’t understand why no one is making rifles like this today ?

I can't imagine either. The 21H is such a sleek, slim, dainty rifle that can be carried all day. I'm getting long-in-the-tooth and that's why I purchased it......something for me really old age, and the 7x57 is ideal. Many guns manufactured today are robust and don't have the same sleek feel as some yesteryear rifles. I would also rank the Mannlicher Schoenauer in the same category.

The Mannlicher and Brno 22F are just about the only other hunting rifles I'm interested in other than my 21H and I've shot more game with the 7x57 than any other cartridge.
Everything else just doesn't tickle my fancy.
