Does anyone no much about this firearm? History, good shooter, etc etc. Any info would be good.

I have one. I bought it NIB, had it bedded, free floated, and the Talley rings lapped. It loves Hornady Custom 139 gr (not the light magnum), with holes touching at 200 meters off the bench. Federal 140's are a close second. The ZKK series of rifles came out in about 1965 and were discontinued around 1996. The two digit number on the left hand side where the barrel meets the action is the year it was manufactured. Push the trigger forward to set it and it can be adjusted by removing the bolt and turning the screw that can be seen from the top behind the rear bridge. I've never been disappointed in any of my Brno's yet.

HI Rocket, welcome to CGN!

There seems to be a few of these around and as far as I know peole love them. Even so, it is hard to say with so many factors to play with.
Will you be handloading or shooting factory rounds?
Will it wear a Tasco scope or a Leupold?
Particulars like that will have alot to do with the performance, as I have found out the hard way.

The 275 Rigby really shines when you load for it, factory rounds are backed off quite a bit for use in old milsurp rifles.

The European 7x57's also seem to have long throats, may need to seat the bullet out as long as possible to help compensate.
Please check before taking that as gospel as it may no tbe the case with yours.

Nice pick for cartridge, I am sure you will love it.

Noel

Suggestions!

Thanks for the info.

I will be getting shells reloaded as factory ammo is not readily avalible to me. Cost is a factor as well.

I am currently looking for a scope for it. It seems new scopes are getting better priced these days. I can get a bushnell banner for 100 bucks (life time warranty). I know it is not a leupold but what can a guy do.

The rifle will be used by my kids as a starter gun. I am looking to have a recoil pad installed. Any suggestions on what type.

Hey Guy, good info!! I have a Brno ZKK 602 in .458WM & now I know what the 92 stamped on the barrel & action left side stands for. I have been 'thinking' of selling it, as I also have a Winchester model 70 in the same caliber, but so far I've always been able to come up with a 'viable' reason to keep it. A couple of questions, first, and they are easy to change out, where could I get a higher front sight blade? Mine was shooting too high with the iron sights so what I've 'tried' is gluing a piece of 0.100" fibre optic to the top of the front sight. Just the right height now, easy to pick up the front sight but........ Second, I'm looking for a set of scope mounts / rings, know of any available & if so, where?:)

Never shot a Brno but I have handled a few. Seems to be a very nice rifle indeed!! The 275 Rigby (7x57) is a classic load and should be just great in your rifle.
Cheers:D

Go to a CZ dealer (such as Reliable) and order in the appropriate new front blade that fits the CZ 550. There are a few options from what I understand. I have heard of others taking a NECG sight and filing it a little to fit. As for rings, go with a set of Talley QDs. I understand you can get them from Corlane Sporting Goods in Dawson Creek, but I got my second pair from Ralph Martini in Cranbrook. My first pair I bought ftom Talley directly. If you ever decide to find a new home for the 458, drop me a pm.

Thanks for the info. As far as the front blade is concerned, I may just go with what I have for the time being as with the iron sights, its shooting right on the money with my 'alteration' to the front.
I'll see if I can arrange for a set of Talley QDs, as my buddy goes to Dawson Creek fairly regularly.
I may well part with it down the line but I want to 'play' with it a lot more yet. I'll say this, it is easier to handle than the model 70 as far as recoil is concerned but if I finally decide to part with it, I'll give you a shout. Thanks again.
