I don't think you need to see fudgepak mountain to find it disgusting. Since when does flick about some ####### who sticks his nose (or prick) into a funtioning family deserve any award? Not to mention the promotion of an unnatural lifestyle. Hollywood has finally slid far enuogh in the gutter that I at least don't need to help them out. Mark

some body a couple of pages back said this: "but no way that is going to happen.." about there being ### cowboys...don't mean to burst your bubble but every year in conjunction with or close to the greatest outdoor show on earth there is a "###" rodeo just outside of Calgary and if my sources are correct there are a couple of "big name" rodeo stars and ranchers there

I'm sure through history there's all sorts of cowboys, soldiers and even famous leaders that have stuck their weenies in creative places places . . . doesn't mean we have to glorify that aspect of their lives to try to sell a movie.
No one is making any of you go see this movie. If it makes you uncomfortable , then just don't go see it. To be honest, it does make me uncomfortable so I won't go see it. Does that make me anti ###, or homophobic? Nope.
Have any of you considered the fact that there may be some ### people on this forum that might now feel more than unwelcome due to some of these comments. Why can't some people just live and let live.
How about any movie involving adultery? Adultery goes against christian beliefs too, but I never hear this kind of commotion (or any commotion for that matter) about any of these movies.

i'm going to see it asap, as it employed some of my friends and alot of Albertans, i'm sure the "###" scene wil disturb as did the shower rape scene of Ed Norton in "American History X" or that same actor stompin the dude on the curb in the same movie until that time i reserve judgement as to whether it glorifies homosexual relationships (which i could really care less if it does)

Frankly, I don't care if two butt bandits want to go at it 24/7, just as long as I don't have to watch it! Didn't want to see two butt bandits going at it who wear cowboy hats, so didn't go to see Brokeback Mountain! That's my choice, I say live and let live. There's no one forcing you to go see it, so what's the problem? Most of the audience who will see it, probably don't share a lot of the same values as many of the movie's most strident opponents...as such, I really don't see how a "quasi-art house" film about homosexuals will negatively affect Christian, Sikh, Muslim, or similar family values. I haven't seen droves of straight, religious families lining up to see it so why worry?
However, what pisses me off is that one of the very few good movies that Hollywood produced this past year, namely "Walk The Line" was snubbed by "Hollyweird" and didn't get an Oscar nomination for Best Picture! Just look at the films that were! If you put their combined box office totals together, it wouldn't equal a single so-called "blockbuster!"...and they wonder why the past couple of years, box-office takes are way down...maybe because they're constantly producing absolutely crappy movies...case in point: the new Pink Panther movie! You just know that's going to tank!
Also, while I can accept ###s for what they are and go on with my life, I have to wonder why Starchoice, Bell Express VU and most major cable companies carry/offer ###/alternate lifestyle channels in their programming bundles, but no way in hell can we get the American based Outdoor Channel, ESPN Outdoors, American OLN, or even the Canadian based Wild TV that offer hunting/fishing/outdoor oriented shows!!! Talk about a group being marginalized and discriminated against! Hunters and gun owners in our society are made to feel embarrased and ashamed of their behaviour and "beliefs" moreso than any ### or lesbian! The media also regularly bash and attack us in their news reports, TV shows and movies! What makes us any less deserving of having our civil liberties and basic human rights protected than any other minority. The hypocrisy is overwhelming!

While the intentions of some of you are noble in standing up for what you believe is fairness and equality, the truth is that the world will never be a fair and equal place. Never!
Look at what we've accomplished by being "fair and equalitarian" about religious views (or in other words, being PC). We have ourselfs the makings of a third world war. Had we nipped it in the bud (the anti christian, anti jews, pro muslim movement in the western world) we wouldn't be seeing LEGAL demonstrations by muslims in the western world where they are protected by our cops to carry signs that advocate the total anihilation of western society and of those who have the balls to not take islam too serious.
Where am I going with this? The world has never been about fairness and about equality. Yeah sure, try and be a decent human being but as soon as someone tries to push their agenda on you and to suffocate you with their believes and their culture, you should fight back and should endevour to preserve the believes and the culture that you value.
In the end, only the strong will survive. I'll choose survival over fairness any day. Every one else is ready to fight dirty for their cause. Why shoulnd't we as (mostly) white, (mostly) christian, westerners do the same to preserve our values and our life styles?
