buy a savage? .........
Could'nt help myself! I hope you see the humor. but that really sucks!
I will add I have never broken a bolt handle off. The ones I tig weld on are new ptg bolt and handle setupsI always tig weld the handles on any of the guns I build, that way you can set the timing and extraction cam for the correct contact.
These things happen??? Really lol. That would be most people's reason to never buy remington again. If something like a freaking bolt broke I would break the rifle in half and ship it back to remington and ask them if they can take the trash out for me.
Please contact the Gravel Agency so we can see about helping you out. csr@gravelagency.com
Sucks that it happened hope you get it resolved in a timely fashion!
For those who are standing up for Remington, would you want this happening on a once in a lifetime hunting trip or even worse, life and death situation? It's just a poor design in general no matter what brand it is, just Remington was the one foolish enough to implement it.
No, I know they aren't the only ones that do this. That doesn't make it any better.Do you really think that Remington is the only manufacturer with a separate bolt handle attached to the body?
Hey guys,
So local GS took the bolt in... he is going to get it back on, then drill and tap 3 screws into it so it doesn't happen again.
The 3 screws are a waste of time. They will fail if it isn't properly silver soldered or welded.
Exactly. Don't let some gun store hack "fix" your bolt. Get it silver soldered and never worry about it again. I would rather pay out of pocket to have this done than let some fool install screws into it. Where do you even put 3-screws? This is retarded and it will look like $hit.

Generic pic. They solder it on, then drill and tap, then shove in in the screws. As mentioned before this was/is still common in some circles in the US. Some folks grind them flush, like threaded studs, others leave heads on them, some buy a bolt made by someone else.
