...Registering is very expensive for factories, carries paperwork tracking and a whole lot of other regulatory stuff. For those companies who do not think having their products exported or don't want to hassle with US State Dept. they opt out of registering....

Welcome to CGN, Pete! Your presence here is very much appreciated. And yet another "thank you" to the tireless Sandy Moranville in Exports. She must really have her hands full.

A sad example of the above situation is no doubt Allan Foundry, who make the useful "in the rough" oversize front sights (Brownells #011-011-065 etc.). I've made up a few "poor man's" XS-type white-line sights (using Scotchlite™ for the white strip- nice and bright!)... before the State Dept. stepped in.

I wouldn't be surprised if the family live above the shop! Obviously they aren't going to go through the expense and hassle or registering with the State Dept. and who can blame them?
