Tonight is the first trip to the range with my new Browning 1911-22.
I put a total of 600 rounds of mixed ammo through the gun tonight and am very impressed with the outcome.

Fired was:
100 rounds of Remington Subsonic hollow points
100 rounds of CCI mini-mag hollow points
100 rounds of CCI mini-mag round nose
100 rounds of Winchester 555 hollow points
100 rounds of Winchester Wildcat hollow points
100 rounds of Federal round nose

Throughout the complete 600 round evening the gun experienced one FTF (Fail to fire) only which seemed odd because the rim of the FTF round had a good solid indent from the firing pin. I brought the round home, pulled out the lead and dumped the powder, and found the round did not have any primer compound in it.
Therefore; I can honestly say the gun itself had zero failures in the first 600 rounds shot.

I shot from the 8 and 10 meter distance standing with my hands unsupported and shot consistently within the 3"x 4" oval on the target. Probably could have done much better had I taken more time but I'm very happy with the outcome for fairly quick shooting.

I found the gun to have a very heavy trigger pull which accounts for some of the group sizes. I don't have a trigger pressure meter but have read other forums and believe the high end to be around an 8 pound pull. With some trigger work I think the groupings could be quiet impressive with this little gun.
Overall, I really enjoyed shooting the little Browning 1911-22 and look forward to many more range visits with it.

Saturday February 5, 2012 Total rounds fired to date "1155"

Today I put 555 rounds of Winchester 555 through the Browning 1911-22 and had ZERO failures. Keep in mind I haven't cleaned or oiled the gun since the initial cleaning & lube when I first bought it. I don't plan on cleaning or lubing the gun until I start getting frequent failures. I am inspecting the gun to ensure no permanent damage is occurring and nothing is questionable yet.

Tuesday February 7, 2012 Total rounds fired to date "1700"

Another 550 down the pipe with one more FTF at about the 1450 round mark.
That's two FTF out of the total 1700 rounds with out a cleaning. I check the gun over every so often and found the slide getting pretty dry of lube so I only lubed the slide at the 1600 round mark. I believe this is the best trouble free 1911 style .22LR gun I've owned to date.

50 round group @ 7 meters. Rounds 1650 to 1700 Last shooting for the day. 3" orange circle.

May 7, 2012 Total rounds fired to date is over "3500". Most of which has been Winchester 555.
Kinda lost track of the exact number somewhere along the line and started counting bulk packs to keep track.
I have had a total of 5 FTF's.
I can't believe the continued shooting record for this little Browning.
Either I guessed way to high at the trigger pull when I first purchased it or after 3500 rounds it's lightened up a lot. I finally had it measured with a trigger pull meter last week and it is running at about 4.5 lbs.

June 16, 2012 Total rounds fire to date just broke over 5000 rounds.
I have now had 9 FTF and 1 FTL. The 1 "fail to load" was caused by misalignment of the round into the chamber. The lead was at an angle to the casing when I checked it but I'm not sure if it was that way before I put it in the mag or after. This 1911 .22 is just amazing.
I've fed this thing everything I've run across and it has eaten it up and asked for more. No 1911 design .22 I've previously owned can come close to this gun for reliability. In the last 1500 rounds I've included another 200 rounds of sub sonic rounds through this gun without one issue.

Sept 22, 2012 Total rounds fired is over 8000 rounds.
Total FTF is 12, and 2 FTL.
Amazed at the dependability and durability of this gun.

I'm also on the fence.
Having owned a GSG for some time...I really like the full size frame.
And the Colt Umarex Gold Cup, which I've handled at my lgs is quite nice as well.
Just don't know...Gold Cup?...Browning?

I have a GSG and liking it a lot, but I kinda like the idea of a mini 1911.

Anyone have a pic of one next to another gun? haven't seen one yet in person.

fixed :)

did you try to fire the dud round on another spot, or just the once?

how much was the gun?

I turned the dud round 180 degrees and tried firing it again but it failed again.
When I emptied the brass there was no primer compound in the round.

The gun was $560.
Seems a bit rich but I believe it functions better then the competition, so far anyway.
I'll post again after a couple thousand rounds.

looking is nice, but holding it will sell you.
havent heard of trigger issues, 8lb ? sent it back!
both i and a friend own one, we let my 8yr old daughter shoot them dual weild, triggers are light and crisp, only complaint is it came with one mag, however 100th aniversary case and certificate verifing first years production,...its a keeper

I have a gunsmith going to look at the trigger on the weekend to see if it can be lightened up. I'm hoping it's something easy to rectify/lighten up.
There are no trigger kits that I'm aware of and will probably be a year or two before we see any.
