Browning A bolt Japan

All A-Bolts are made in Japan, always have been. They are excellent rifles and the quality control on these guns is much better than say some of the American drivel that makes its way north. The Japanese are much like the Germans with attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship. A-Bolts are excellent guns, if you like the way they feel, you can't go wrong.

All Browning A-bolts are made by Miroku in Japan. There is nothing wrong with A-bolt rifles, they have great fit and finish but they do come with a higher price tag than other bolt action rifles. A neat perk about owning an A-bolt is they have a 60 degree bolt lift.

If you are concerned about quality, you don't need to be. There is nothing wrong with the quality. There are lots of CGN's who hate A-bolts regardless of where they were manufactured. I have had my Japanese made A-bolt SS, .270 for about 17 yrs. It is hands down, my favourite hunting rifle. Accurate, light, better than average trigger and a short bolt handle lift. I like the magazine set up. I can carry the loaded magazine in my pocket and quickly pop it in place, without fumbling with cartridges in the cold, rain etc.. The only negative is that the it isn't the slickest action to work. Other than that, my Japanese A-bolt has never failed or frustrated me.

I love my A-bolt so much that I have ordered another one. The only complaint I have is the length of time for left handed models to come in...I have had a 270WSM Medallion on order since May 2008 and it's not due to arrive until 2010. If you are a lefty prepare to wait unless it is on the shelf.

It's not just the lefties that are waiting. I have had a right A-Bolt Medallion on order since Jan. 08 It was supposed to be in April 08 and if not then in July 08. Something about when production runs end. Since then it every time I call the date gets pushed back further.

After finding out that they are all made in Japan i went ahead and made the deal.
Took it out to the range and i was shooting 1inch to 1.25inch groups at 100 yards using winchester grey box ammo.now i have to work up some loads and find out what she likes.
