Browning A-bolt

The bolt is locked down when on safe. There may also be a small red tang visible at the back of the bolt on the bottom, there is on mine. If its visible it means that the gun has a round in the chamber .

Yes I do have the rifle, But on safe the gun won't fire(good thing). The thing is the bolt will rotate up but not open. Manual say "not open on safe". Herein lies the question? Seems weird the bolt rotates, but it does stay closed. Just looking for an A-Bolt owner to confirm this.

Thanks Guys, Derek

Take the metal out of the stock and examine how the safety works and how what is supposed to lock the bolt down functions... and go from there...

A-Bolt I, II or III ???

I have three A-Bolt I (Medallions) and with each, when SAFETY is in the "ON" / "SAFE" position, the bolt handle is locked down.....
