Browning BPS high Cap.

ya, i mean could you purchase a longer mag tube and put it on a regular BPS say ? or would you just have to buy the whole firearm?.

I imagine you should be able to buy the mag tube as a part, but then you would need the barrel as well, as it doesn't mount the same as the regular barrel mag combo... plus I think the mag is press fit into the receiver?

As per my previous posts, I got one a while back, and it is excellent... not sure why they are not so popular (and discontinued the true High Cap 7+1 for the new 5+1).

After owning the Fabarm, Remington 870, O/U, SxS, Baikal Mag Fed, and a Mossberg... the winner out of all of them is the Browning. To me, it is exactly what I was looking for in a shotgun. The capacity, feel, action, ejection... perfect.:D

Oh, and best priced as well...

Yes, but there are a few websites (dealers) that have the 5+1 that they are making now... I am not sure if we are supposed to mention non-affiliated websites or not on here... let me know if you want to know where they are. Plus RyanJ (on here has one for sale as well)

2 questions

1. Is the receiver on these really steel? I always thought the BPS receivers were aluminum?

2. How do these compare with the new Ithaca M37 "tactical" models?

1. Yes, all steel receiver, machined from a solid steel forging...

2. I have not used the new Ithaca M37 Tacticals, but from what I have heard the barrel is pressed in and not removeable, which is a strike against it in my book.

The BPS synthetic stock set on the High Cap is not a deep black, but otherwise fit and finish is excellent. It is also a blueing on the BPS and not a parkerization.

The original Browning BPS High Capacity on top, middle one is the new Browning "High Capacity", and bottom is what they should have done if they were going to limit the capacity from 7+1 to 5+1...

I have had one for over a year, and have run a couple thousand rounds through it they are incredible guns I paid.440.00 nothing else even comes close. I don't know why they aren't more popular, probably because they aren't covered with pic. rails and other so called 'tacticool' garbage.
X2. Mine 20ga upland is a keeper though. I also think nothing in other pump actioned competition comes even close to quality, simplicity and ergonomics for even twice the price.
