I have a Browning Challenger and love it... I've handled Buckmarks and they're similar. A lot of people swear by the GSG... Go to the range and try a few out! There are places that will rent you the pistols.

Smith & Wesson model 41 are very good and another real good one is a CZ Kadet.
Graydog
I've got both the ruger and the buck mark and I prefer the buck mark.
It's heavier, it's easier to clean and maintain, it's more accurate (for me), it's cheaper and available.
Both are nice guns but the browning comes out to the range more.
Just be sure to get the one with the nice grips and fiber optics.
Those grips are fant-freakin-tastic!
(Ignore the red dot, it was a phase)

I believe this one is called the camper URX
The URX being those super comfy grips

Maybe you have a Ruger 22/45 with polymer frame if it's lighter than your Buck Mark. I'm pretty sure the all steel frame Mark 3 is heavier than alloy frame in all Buckmarks. I've shot a couple of Buckmarks and they're definitely lighter than my mk3.
That being said Buckmarks are so much easier to take apart and clean.
