The fact that the gun has been in production and virtually unchanged (some minor modifications) since it's introduction in 1935 says lots about it. It is or has been in use by more than 80 countries worldwide since then. It is also one of the few hi-cap handguns that fit smallish hands comfortably. I have put over 6150rds (mostly reloads) thru mine and have yet to have a single malfunction, so needless to say they are above average in the reliability department.
About the only negative thing with the pistol is the factory trigger pull...but that can be improved pretty easily!
