Browning doesn't recommend that you use steel shot at all in the older A5's, unless it's a Miroku built gun (steel shot safe) or you've bought a newer replacement barrel. You can buy some good non-tox shells that will be safe to shoot, but on top of the hefty price tag for those 'designer' shells, you'll pay even more for the 16g stuff. IMO, you've got a great little, and highly sought after semi there, so stick with lead and use it for upland hunting. Find something else to shoot steel with. BTW, got any pics of it?
